My dd is interested in joining ssrc as a cca. Can I ask if this cca is very stressful? And what do yall think about joining this cca? Does it have a very high level of commitment?
Any reply will be much appreciated!
Thank you! -

Unfortunately, I don't have any specifics yet on what they are doing (they start next week). I am not sure on the final student count either, although the original notice mentioned about 60 students.
How many students being selected? What are they going to study this year?SG_KP1\" post_id=\"2012196\" time=\"1610694315\" user_id=\"188234:

Hi parents of HCI’s kids, my kid is currently in lower primary. But I wish to prep him to enter HCI after PSLE.
Can anyone pls share which are the good enrichment/tuition centres u all hv gotten ur kid’s into ? Any tips as well pls? -
My tip is: there’s no need to prepare him to enter a ‘top’ school. So long the child is diligent in his work, does well without needing much tuition, is a happy child.
In HCI, the school expects students to be independent learners. Students are encouraged to approach Teachers to clear any doubts, going for extra enrichment is not recommended. -
Any past / current Y4 student here ?
After end of Y2 streaming exercise over,
can name, identify
some of the GCE A-level "Physics" topics, that start to be "pulled down", start teaching IP students in (Y3 and Y4) Hwa Chong Integrated-curriculum program? -
Just curious, pre-COVID were the boys "early adopters" and already using Zoom/Google Meet to do all of the group assignments/project work? Or did they previously stay back in school and/or meet up on the weekend to do the work? So far, I rarely see them staying after school to work on things. All of them prefer to head home and then have a video call later. Not sure either way is better, just wondering if this is a change brought about by COVID.

For my child (though not in this school), they were already working on projects online since primary 4. It was more convenient as everyone had different schedules after school and most leave with the school bus and would have been impossible to stay back after school. But I realised this “meet online to do project together” was not common in every school because when my child went on to sec school, we found out that many of the classmates were not skilled at “meeting up online”. But they learnt to do that quickly. And that was pre covid. So no, I wont think the change is brought about by covid. More like more convenient as everyone had different schedules. -

Thanks. The different schedules is definitely an issue, many days it is impossible to get everyone together at the same time until 6-7 PM at night (various other classes, CCA, etc). Still, even on the days when everyone is free, it seems like the consensus of all the groups my son is in is to go home, shower, eat, etc and then jump on a video call later. I guess since they have to do it (video call from home) on days there are scheduling conflicts, that is the default/normal option to them.
