You seem to look down on JAE, don't you...... Whatever good must be from the IP, whatever not good must be due to the JAE...... You very elite thinking hor.......

What other factors caused results to dip?
1. Weather.
2. A butterfly flaps its wings in the distance.
P/S: “Drastically” is an overdramatized and exaggerated expression. The results are well within the standard range of movement.
Yes,butterfly effect says small changes can have large consequences-
Dhs small % jae caused a sharp dip in its results, while causing RV aldy mid ranged results to dip further this time.
Ejc wd'nt want to take risk to up its Jae intake.
Ejc total intake hovers 600 with big campus while others intake close 700 or more.
\"The results are well within the standard range of movement\"- not amongst top tier jcs. -
Which is (are) the IP-JCs (A-level)
in Singapore,
that have an equal weightage of A-level students (If any) ?
that is, constituted
(50% IP + another 50% JAE ) students
Or
is it that
All IP-JCs (A-level) in reality have more (a higher percentage / proportion ) IP students, than the JAE intake, a decision made by the top ( MOE ) ? -
I believe (teachers here, please feel free to comment) the intake numbers are solely determined by MOE.
Even for independent schools, they cannot set their own intake numbers. Only private international schools can.
No school can suddenly increase intake by 100 JAE a year - it has to be planned for and catered for by MOE because you need to have the teachers posted in to teach the additional students! Teacher deployment is by MOE, except for teachers which are directly employed by independent schools. (However EJC is not an independent school and teacher numbers and deployment are solely determined by MOE.) Independent schools do have a proportion of directly contracted teachers, as well as a sizable pool of MOE teachers. -

That was what I heard a few years ago when attending a school talk. Cannot suka suka increase or decrease proportion of IP and JAE. All decisions are made by MOE.

So moe has always wanted HCI/RI to be top 1 or 2 by having more ip kids?

Dhs and Rv have 80% ip kids inside but this time results plunged.
Moe also plan to maintain Ejc std by maintaining its 60% ip kids. -
If you want to be called an "IP-JC", then Yes,
believed that
the percentage of IP students will always exceed that of JAE. Moe decide what targeted %tage of IP students to set at, for admission.
Otherwise,
why would people even name & call them "IP-JC" (A-level), in the very first place ?
Hwa Chong : 70% (IP), 30% (JAE)
Dunman High and River Valley High : 80 % (IP), 20% (JAE)
Eunoia JC : 60 % (IP), but Eunoia is different from Hwa Chong/ Dunman High / River Valley High
Why different ?
Because
EJC come from 3 different Secondary schools, not from your usual standard 2 schools (boys Hwa Chong side and Girls from Nanyang Girls High side)
Nor like the 2 standard boys Victoria school & Cedar Girls Sec
Temasek JC : ? Percentage of IP vs. JAE ?
Victoria JC ? Percentage of IP ?
National JC ?
RI ? -

Are you insulting NYJC which has zero IP kids?
What is the point of your your question? -

What is the point of your your question?[/quote]Hci obviously have 70% ip kids as shared.
But then Dhs/Rv which have more ip , didnt do well.
Point is Moe controls num of ip kids cohort, thus hoping ip jcs can do well.
Hci and maybe RI will always be num 1, 2.
Ejc , still need to ascertain for a few years more, but its expected to do fairly ok as has more ip kids too.
The issue discussed is ip jcs only.
Out of context on jae jcs.
Generally ip jcs tend to outshine more with moe support except Dhs, Rv, Njc, Tjc. -

Njc about 30-40 % ip -
How about Temasek JC ?
What is the %tage of IP vs. JAE ?
50 % each ?
===========================
How about RI ?
ratio (proportion ) also the same as, identical to Hwa Chong ?
also 70% (IP) vs. 30 % (JAE) ?
