I’m surprised it’s reported that Spore achieved only 27.5% vaccination as a nation? That’s far fr halfway mark.

I think that's about right from the Parliament speech. Assuming a population of 5M, this is about 20-30% depending on whether 1 dose is considered vaccinated.

\"As of May 9, about 1.8 million people have received at least one dose of a COVID-19 vaccine, with 1.2 million of them receiving their second dose, said Health Minister Gan Kim Yong in Parliament on Tuesday (May 11).\"

I believe the official figures were:
      - 1 in 4 fully vaccinated (i.e. 2 doses, about right with the report)
      - 1 in 3 has completed 1 dose

Yep, let's hope the rest of the vaccine stocks come in fast and we don't need to extend the time between doses and can get all our people vaccinated quickly. Plus those under 16 too.

It's only been offered to those 45 and over, and some occupational groups. And take-up hasn't been all that high in general population.

I am just puzzled with so many fully vaccinated pple (in airport, hospital etc) yet still get infected.
The vaccine is not 100% effective against infection. And the more infected people they come into contact with, the more likely it is that they will be infected at some point. The risk of infection will drop the fewer infected people they meet. That will happen when there is herd immunity.

Once enough people have been vaccinated that we don't fear the hospitals being overwhelmed, we will just have to live with Covid, just as we live with flu, chickenpox, etc. Some people will get it, and they will need to be treated as and when cases occur.

Technically, there's nothing wrong. It is, actually, to be expected.

Both Pfizer and Moderna vaccine (the two currently being administered) have an efficacy of 95% at preventing symptomatic Covid infection after two doses. It is not 100% protection. Considering the speed at which they need to research, test, manufacture and distribute the vaccine, I think it's difficult to aim for 100% efficacy; 95% is probably the region where the manufacturers and health authorities considered the vaccine as 'good enough'.

For enrichment lessons like play cello / violin,

can our kids still go to Teacher’s house for lesson, 1 to 1 ?

para 7 only says online for centre based activities

perhaps the teacher would need to manage the 2 unique visitors to the house

if treated as home based business then may not be possible?
