Last year was really stressful. Waiting for them to close school. Not encouraged to wear mask. I got my kids wear mask to school got asked and sent back more than 1 time.
Pretty sure vaccine is the answer? He was also very sure “not sick no need to wear mask” then, lol.Imp75\" post_id=\"2024396\" time=\"1621305688\" user_id=\"2358:
By the way, heard CCS on chinese news interview yest. He hinted that MOH has already the data on vaccination for teens and will announce in the near future
Somehow, I feel CCS is quite hard-fisted compared to his predecessors. Swift and decisive man. And also, the sounds of it, he seems pretty sure vaccine is the answer and parents will send their kids to vaccine. Not sure if he thought about what parents are thinking about the vaccine. I have many young married no kids friends who do not intend to get jabbed especially now data has shown it can't stop variants of covid.
Still too early to tell he is hard-fisted compared to his predecessors? Last year, many parents asked to shut down schools out of fear but OYK refused and kept saying schools’ situation was under control. I think he pissed off quite a lot of parents then with his stubborn position.
This time I was waiting and waiting also and so relieved when the HBL news came out!
This year more critical than last year right coz it is community cases. Last year's fear was more on dont have much knowledge of the virus I feel. -

This year’s B1617 variant more contagious & our younger ones affected. Thankfully, hvn’t heard of critical health effects, but we nvr know. Best don't catch it. Last year, adults esp elderly more susceptible. This year bcoz it’s higher contagiousness, it’s spreading fast in local context. So best we all go out less except for grocery & daily needs (not wants) and help contain it. We can’t be quarantined like the FW, but we can exercise our social cohesion. Stay safe. Stay united. -

Someone mentioned earlier, maybe the top thinks that airport staff are all vaccinated hence won’t kena Covid, then complacency sets in and the B1617 variant broke through the layers of defense and entered our community. Hospital staff also the same. They think they are vaccinated so some took off masks to chit chat w other staff within hospital itself.
vaccine probably isn't THE answer....but \"one of the line of defences\"? lol

I m not sure, I somehow feel ‘lucky’ for the 1st hospital case to emerge…from then busy tracking and all these coming out?

Guess memories are short lived, lol.

I find that last year’s was very stressful compared to this year’s outbreak. From the moment I couldn’t get hold of a box of masks after running to Watson’s and Guardians, the stress already started, Lol. And also the fear and lack of knowledge of a new/unknown disease. Not just masks even test kits also not enough! Our hospitals were overwhelmed with patients and the hospital staff worked till like zombies.
Then we had to quickly build Expo and other quarantine facilities, not to mention that in the dorms, some FW SHN until committed suicide!
This time round, we are all masked up. Essential workers and older folks already taken their jabs. None of the affected children is seriously ill. Now with the tightened measures, we may start to see a decline in community cases over the next two weeks. The only thing I want to know is, when experts claim that there are many unlinked cases, is it because contact tracing is slow or really unlinked?
Yes, India is badly hit but we are lucky to be in Singapore where medical is more advanced and general level of hygiene is good.
This year, I am more like upset and disappointed with government for not guarding the borders better. It has already been proven that once we all go into our family bubble, it helps to stem the spread of covid. -

Sometimes just wondering are those unlinked now, are the 'first batch' of unlinked lo. Now that the cases coming out, with most us so guai mask on etc..hope the wave will go off quickly. Just when we about to see a better time coming suddenly like crashing down like that. Hope bz can dong and families can get reunited soon.

Too many unverified assumptions made, particularly the \"function of the vaccine\". Vaccine reduces severity but is not proven to prevent infection. That is based on how vaccine efficacy data are calculated by WHO, which is purely comparing people with symptomatic infections in the vaccinated and control group. So when unverified assumptions are made, everyday that passes without an issue arising is a blessing and not a given. -
unlinked cases reported may be updated as linked cases in subsequent days. This had happened multiple times but not often.

Thx, sky. I’d deleted my post because I wasn’t sure if it was official (I couldn’t find it in their press releases page).
