Dear daisyt, how they change the single unit in your room? Do you bought the same unit ? Because mine is a resale flat with 3 units of aircon but I wish to change / use only 2 units. And I was worried about all the hidden cables - 😢

Thanks for all the advice. But why my air con unit is still not cool since I just top up the units less than 6 mths ago and I didnot use it for more than 3 times since topping up. Do air con need to be on weekly or daily on to have a smooth function?

by right, no need. your aircon should still be cold even if you seldom use it.

Bt the way, if we change the whole unit, that means we had to tear down all the wires and reconnect new wires ? For those who had change the air con before, won't that be a mess?

no need too. I've changed my own aircon and my parent's. the old ones are more then 10 years old. we use back the same trucking (ie, pipes).

Bought our aircon from ALL BEST @ IMM after much recce-ing around for our

aircon. I did all the ground work with regards to price comparison, best sales
approach ie. no-obligation, no pressure and i will try my best to answer all
your questions kind. šŸ˜„ Even the nonsensical ones i purposely added were
attended to politely and in great detail. I was invited to sit in the store for as
long as i liked and i can just tell the guy which aircon i'd like to know about. I
asked for all the brochures for almost all the aircons i asked about and
asked him to explain all the aircon specs and comparisons to me... Told
him, my husband was busy and it has been super hot of late so i will decide
which we WILL buy once i hv decided on one... The rest of the stores either
said all aircons the same just the price difference cos of commercial reasons
like celebrity ads (etc), of some showed how exhausted they were with my
pretend-auntie-dunno-ness quite blatantly, or their aircons are soo over
priced and have bad sales attitude to boot... even before purchase.

ALL BEST served me best just as how they're called (so true to their name)
and the after sales service is perfect till today. The boys even slowed down
their work when we asked how certain stuff were done during servicing...
why certain stuff were done and patiently showed/explained to us.

Only local & Malaysian workers we've seen so far and they are very efficient.
A few even help clean up the mess when they're done. :salute: They took
time to explain which job was done for what since sometimes there was quite
a bit to do. They advised us how to avoid electricity wastage and how to
avoid calling them so often. Dun let their boss know.. shh.. šŸ˜‰

Punctual. Offer service vouchers when you purchase from them & valid for 2
years from date of purchase. There's like 1-2mths guarantee for servicing
done. ie. if there's problem right after servicing within the 1-2mths time
frame, they'd come rectify it for free. Does a very clean job with the initial
installation, will ask specifically where you want it placed and will check with
you again before officially fixing it (not just hantam & put it anywhere they
think is best), tell you/sign off their names upon completion of servicing and
upon your signing their service chit so you know who last serviced your
aircon since their team comprise of a few people...

Great before and after sales service, hence we bought again from them for
our new place. šŸ˜‰ And since we already know many people/staff by their
first names, we're like privileged/loyal customers and were given extra
                freebie. šŸ˜„

Thanks to the great people from ALL BEST we have learnt a lot.

My handy manny of the house hubs whom my children call Mr Fix It; can
already do the servicing on his own. ie. dismantle everything... clean them
up inside and outside... and put them all back together... and our rooms
have been like really super cool all the time till today. We bought a Toshiba
from them back then & it's still standing strong and sometimes i feel we are
in a fridge! Mebbe even the freezer sometimes... without even touching the
set temperature on the remote. Not that i'm complaining especially with me
being preggie, it is a norm that i will always feel warm. If i am not
mistaken, we bought our Toshiba somewhere around 2004 or 2005.

Just my usual dose of sharings... as usual.

I am changing my McQuay aircon of 7 years.

Heavy consumption and leak every 6 months.
The last straw was after the last service the air con developed a leak, and to check the leak cost $300 and was recommended to chemical clean the compressor which will cost another $300!

I read some good reviews about Kaisoon aircon company.
So this coming monday, i will be changing to mitsubitshi starmex inverter.
System 2 costs $2140 from Kaisoon aircon company.
Supposed to cut down electrical consumption by 1/3 to even 1/2!

If it is really the case, i will change the rest of the aircons in the house!

Hope u hv not confirmed for inverter type. Heard more electronic parts = more replacements = outweighs cost savings in the long run.

Thanks Jennifer, i have confirmed the inverter already.
                        System 2 only.
My master room aircon is on almost all day, so i need an energy conserving one.
If it is good i will get system3 for the rest of the house.
If no good, then i will get the non inverter type for the other 3 rooms.
