<1km no need PV can go in 😄 all the schools i applied is 1-2km for my PV application. I wonder since covid, will school cancel PV and hv more quota for 2C.
If that's the case, you aren't really lost. You still have plenty of options, but maybe not at your choice schools.

I doubt Covid and Phase 2B will have a major impact on Phase 2C. Phase 1 and Phase 2A are usually the two major phases that take away most of the seats from Phase 2B / 2C.

i have bought new condo in Tampines ( The Treasure) my option for 2C will be school <1km. Which is

        -Chong Zheng
        -Jun Yuan
        -Tampines Primary
        -Yumin

1-2km, I have plenty of good schools.
        -St Hilda
        -Red Swastika
        -Gong Shang
        -Poi Ching
        -Yu Neng

If you were i, what is the strategy you will go for?

And also to piggyback on what floppy mentioned, 2B also includes (active) Grassroots leaders as well.

So there will still be vacancies taken up by these GRLs even if the number of school based PVs reduces.

Given that you stand next to zero chance for the 1-2km schools that you have listed, there is no point to think about them anymore.

Right now, you only have the following schools to choose from:
-Chong Zheng - ballot for SC < 1km
-Jun Yuan - ballot for SC > 2km
-Tampines Primary - ballot for SC 1-2km
            -Yumin - safe

Only Chongzheng requires balloting for SC < 1km. If you decide to go for that, Yumin will be your backup for Phase 2CS. If you are worried about balloting (will be good to wait and see the actual numbers), you can go for Junyuan or Tampines. Ultimately, it's really your decision and your preference.

Hi all, so glad to have found this thread. Researching for my monkey twins

              I live between 1-2KM for
              - St. Andrews Junior School
              - St. Gabriels Primary
              - Cat. High
(Less than 1km are kuo chuan, kheng cheng, first tpy and peichun)

Need some help with my questions:
              1. Am aware that due to current covid situation, st andrews closed all PV applications, so will only qualify under 2C, will this be a risky choice?
              2. I am a catholic but children are not baptised, do they qualify for 2B for St Gabs or Cat high?
              3. Better odds at qualifying for 2B Cat high/St gabs or St Andrews 2C?
              4. What is the best strategy here (honestly I’m not interested in any schools less than 1km. Most interested in St. Andrews then cat high and st gabs)

              Please advise! Thank you

                1. SAS - SC 1-2km will likely require balloting.

                2. Only 1 parents need to be baptised as a Catholic to qualify for the Catholic schools.

                3. CHS: No chance in 2B / 2C for SC 1-2km.
                St Gabriel: Shoo-in in both 2B / 2C for SC 1-2km.
SAS is not a Catholic school, hence you can only join in at 2C (see no. 1 above).

                4. Frankly, you don't have many options. The best course of actions would be:
                a) Apply for St Gabriel in 2B.
                b) Wait and see for the numbers of SAS in 2C.
                c) Decide for yourself whether you can stomach the risk / odds involved for SAS in 2C . In all likelihood, SC 1-2km will require balloting.
                d) If you want to go for SAS, withdraw from St Gabriel and reapply for SAS. However, do note that if you fail to secure a seat at SAS, you will not be able to go back to St Gabriel in Phase 2CS. The only school (from your list of schools) with places available in Phase 2CS is First Toa Payoh.

Hi, I live in Tampines and have ST. Hilda’s, Tampines and Junyuan within 2km. Poi Ching within 1km.

I am a St. Hilda’s alumni BUT did not join the alumni association in time for 2A(1).

We are hoping to get into St. Hilda’s under 2A(2) but according to last year’s stats, only 53% were successful under 2A(2). Last year seems to have been an anomaly as 2A(2) usually had 100% success rate prior to 2020.

                  a. I guess we just have to wait and see the numbers this year, but wanted to get some thoughts on what our chances might be with 2A(2), SC 2km for St. Hilda’s? Should we consider moving house to be near 1km radius (even typing this sounds ridiculous to me!)

                  b. Our back up choice is Poi Ching since it’s the closest to our house, but I understand 2C for Poi Ching is pretty hopeless even with 1km. Both Tampines and Junyuan were also over-subscribed at 2C. Just wanted to get inputs on what is the right backup strategy here.

Its a pity you miss the deadline. The deadline would have been 30 June 2021.
But from the stats so far. For St hilda, 2A2 SC within 2km, likely to go in without balloting. The risky ones are usually 2A2 >2km.
If you do not have any alternative for 2B, then the most likely choice would be either Poi Ching within 1km (need ballot) or Junyuan (Junyuan would need some monitoring as it increase its vacancies in recent years but MK would start next year, so likely to have more enrolment in 2A2.

                      Hi all

Does anyone have the statistics to share for MGS, SCGS and RGPS at phase 2c split by <1km and 1-2km. I’m thinking of relocating to one of these schools, most interested in MGS and would like to assess my chances. Thank you!

You can take a look at the past 3 years’ history here at this thread (you have to find your particular school based on the MOE planning zone):

                        https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=91621&start=40

                        Colour code:
                        Red = balloting <1km
                        Yellow = balloting 1-2km
                        Green = balloting >2km
