Need help
Starting from any of the L’s, the word LEVEL can be spelled by moving either up, down, left or right to an adjacent letter. If the same letter may be used twice in each spell, how many different ways are there to spell the word LEVEL?

The crux lies in the letter V. There is only one V, so all routes must pass through it. It is connected by the 4 Es.Need help

Next we look at E and notice that all the Es are connected to 3 Ls.
Using the concept of route finding, at every E, there are 3 ways of reaching them. Together there are 3*4 =12 ways of reaching the V from any L.
You have 12ways of getting from L to V and 12 ways from V to a L, therefore the number of ways is 12*12 = 144 ways.
Interesting question, may i know where it's from? -
