Yes, there are a number of people I know who are applying next or the following year to SNGS, i.e. kids in K1 or earlier, are now looking for places <1km from the school.
Personally, I would advise against buying a house just for a chance to ballot, especially if they have other good alternative schools to choose from. For our case, we decided to move from our previous house to within walking distance of SNGS for a few reasons. First of all, we were expecting balloting to happen at 1-2km for the worst case scenario, considering this year being the SG50 batch. Second, we do not drive, so proximity is important as well. Lastly, where we used to live has many young families and we have a high chance of being balloted out at 2C. -
2C submission ended, 20/61 chance, wish everyone good luck

That is the highest APP (Applicants / Vacancy Ratio) I've seen for SNGS in 2C for a long time, bearing in mind 61 might not be the final figure.

As long as they have a backup school in Phase 2C Supplementary, eg. Marymount Convent primary or some other schools nearby their home less than 1 km away still with vacancies left in P2CS, it is perfectly all right to try their luck at 2C (20 vacancies).

When Lady red luck keep smiling at you non-stop continuously, in favor of your daughter, u strike a golden lottery ticket for your K2 daughter's next 10 years study in SNGS, starting peacefully from Primary 1 all the way right up to Secondary 4, if you are pro O-level track, and also with the \"easy-to-meet\" Affliation AL score in P6.
Our St Nick Girls' Secondary, is amongst one of the Top O-level schools in Singapore in their L1R5 performance results, for the past few decade(s). -

Why are people taking day 2 numbers as the final number. Or is there something I’m missing?

The final figures (which should include the movements for day 3) will only be really available on 12 Aug and I expect the figures to go up slightly..

For 2A(1) Alumni SCs living more than 2 km and need to ballot,
This year is SG50 boomer batch. Next year SG51 would be equally hot. If MOE starts to reserve more places for 2B and 2C, then balloting will naturally squeeze down to 2A1 at 1-2km.[/quote]
going forward into future P1 Registration,
some may shift house to stay less than 2 km, so as to avoid balloting
2A1s shift to less than 2k, will do.
No need to shift to less than 1 km, because
SC balloting arise for \"more than 2 km away\", for 2A1s -
