2C submission ended, 20/61 chance, wish everyone good luck

That is the highest APP (Applicants / Vacancy Ratio) I've seen for SNGS in 2C for a long time, bearing in mind 61 might not be the final figure.

Why are people taking day 2 numbers as the final number. Or is there something I’m missing?

This is Final number...
Actually it's not as it only covers the updated applicants up to end of day 2.

The final figures (which should include the movements for day 3) will only be really available on 12 Aug and I expect the figures to go up slightly..

This year is SG50 boomer batch. Next year SG51 would be equally hot. If MOE starts to reserve more places for 2B and 2C, then balloting will naturally squeeze down to 2A1 at 1-2km.
For 2A(1) Alumni SCs living more than 2 km and need to ballot,
going forward into future P1 Registration,
some may shift house to stay less than 2 km, so as to avoid balloting

2A1s shift to less than 2k, will do.
No need to shift to less than 1 km, because
SC balloting arise for \"more than 2 km away\", for 2A1s

Figures updated but there’s been no changes apparently: 61 applicants for 20 vacancies with balloting conducted for applicants living within 1km.

Today, announced the merging of combined Phases (2A1 + 2A2). The once-upon-a-time privileged status of joining SNGS Alumni Association has gone with the wind overnight, via this merging. In a way, it marks the end (death) of joining the Alumni group.

Forsee that for next year 2022 K2 girls (born 2016) who are SCs, there is a very high possibility that balloting will arise not outside 2km anymore, but within (1 to 2 km) of St Nick, during Primary 1 registration

because

of the \"Full\" school status of ex / former SNGS (PSLE + O-level) graduates. As such, many ex students' kids (SCs) living more than 2 km, will not be able to come back anymore. 😢

Going forward,
if parents do not see the benefit of joining St Nick 2A1 Alumni Association, with this loss in income $, how to get funds to support other objective(s) in our school ? Perhaps SNGS Alumni committee members may want to hold a meeting, to discuss this sudden shocking impact! There is now Alumni \"disappearance\" effect

Bear in mind that for SNGS, the 2A2 folks would possibly have included those with siblings who had studied at the primary section before, now graduated & maybe studying at the secondary section. How many of them would be living <1km? Substantial number? Nobody knows because there is no applicant history to see.
Majority of the combined Phase 2A SC applicants are staying more than 2 km,
from St Nick primary. Those who wish to \"siam\" balloting & have the financial means (capability), can try shifting closer towards SNGS. There are condo + private property nearby, less than 1 km away. But think those HDB flats are a bit old ?

Next year ( 2022 ) P1 registration, whether balloting arise

- for combined 2As (SC) living within (1 to 2 km),

Or

- for combined 2As (SC) living more than 2 km,

will depend on
the Total number of seats left behind, after Phase 1 (sibling) has ended.

I dont know how this post came here but just for records, the younger sisters of current students in the secondary section, join under Phase 1 (regardless of the primary school they come from).

However, it would definitely now include the younger sisters of pri school girls who join another sec school, who would have been in 2a2 and now will be in 2a.
