For the volume one, the ans is 7 and for the ratio of parallelogram to the triangle is 1:1 as both of the areas are 5cm2. If you get different ans , most likely draw triangle wrongly in the first place
            Thanks for sharing.
            My son's answer is 6, and ratio is 2 : 3.

There seems to be a lot of fairly hyperbolic reactions to the Maths paper. I think that a lot of the feedback about tears and anguish some parents have received from their kids is not particularly representative. The consensus among my DD and her friends is that the paper was hard but fair and generally in line with expectations. They think it was harder than the 2020 paper but substantially easier than 2019 (both of which they had done as practice papers). Several of DD’s friends came away feeling like it was a difficult experience, but certainly no reports of undue distress. I think that once the dust settles, this will be found to be an appropriately challenging paper.

A blessed morning to all fellow parents!
Can any experienced parents/wise ppl in this KSP forum share their top tips for how to revise the coming CL papers with their DS/DD (i.e. what/where/which specific areas to focus on and speculated topic for this year's pictures compo etc), please help... thanks a lot!

the fundamental revision for CL is all the 汉子and its meanings from 4A to 6B 课本, 手册 and 听写单。All these a must. As without understanding the fundamental 汉子,it will be challenging to attempt papers.

Then move on to all the sch/enrichment practices. I ever been requested to intensively coached a C grade p6 and resulted to A in psle.

                汉字
                - 汉语的文字

                汉子
                - 成年男子

                造句:
                做个好汉子,学会好汉字。

                Not same same.

Looks like overblown accounts of experiences.

My child has finished paper 1 in 35 minutes and paper 2 in 60 minutes. From the discussion and other questions she shared with me the paper is not really tough not even of the same standard as that of 2020 paper. So far I could only spot a single mistake in more than 16 problems she shared with me. Onto AL1 hopefully.

On the concerns of algebra - my child uses more algebra than models and we have never been penalized and we were never warned of her usage either. I also had talked with the teachers who marked PSLE papers and none of them expressed any concern. The only thing they look for is whether the answer is derived in a FLUKE. Otherwise children do get rewarded for the steps- algebra or other method.

Thanks for sharing. Will tell her tomorrow. From what she shared earlier one of her classmates got 5:6, others 10:9, 5:8. She and one other got 1:1 but was so many varied answers. 😂

1:1 is the correct ans. My son and classmates all got 1:1

.....[/quote]My daughter’s classmates had all kinds 5:5,5:3,5:4,5:6,5:7 but all agree the first one is 5 units. Actually, it depends on how you draw because same perimeter does not equal same area, there are other ways to draw which makes it possible to have more than 1 ans

there might many ways to draw the triangle. They might still have the same perimeter but different area so it might depend on the triangle drawn
