ESIS is always for top 3% of cohort, that is basically to fit into the top 4 schools of RI/RGS, HCI/NYGH. The % will not change.
ESIS last year was 261. Under your assumption that AL6 = 258, that will bring a lot more students into play (assuming all AL6 are given ESIS).
I have no idea about the part in bold. The part in italics and underline is what I was alluding to. Under the old system (in terms of number of ESIS issued) you would assume ESIS recipient has a very high chance even if ballot. But if it is extended to more people, the ballot odd may not be so great.SG_KP1\" post_id=\"2040871\" time=\"1633418300\" user_id=\"188234:
My personal take is that MOE will be sensitive not to shrink the ESIS pool under the new AL scheme, i.e. more students will qualify for ESIS.
This means, whereas all ESIS eligible students will qualify for the top 4 schools in the past, under new system, all ESIS eligible students will be offered a position (AL4 or 5) OR a ballot ticket (AL 6).
Edit: the point is they used to be able to draw a line very precisely at 3% (or whatever it is). Now, they cannot control how many people end up in AL6 or better (or AL5 or AL7 depending on test difficulty and cohort performance). -

ESIS@261 is about right.

Under AL6 COP the lowest possible tscore is around 259 to 261 (e,g 90 90 85 85), while the highest possible tscore for AL6 is around 279 to 282. (e.g 100 100 89 89) -

I think its a MCQ question.
My girl thinks that it is liquid expanding. The question provided a picture of a bun with the liquid flowing out via a hole near the top of the bun, so she believes that it is the liquid that expanded and flowed out of the bun. Her logic is that if it is the air that expanded, then the air would come out through the hole, rather than the liquid. Although the syllabus does teach that all matter can expand when heated, she is not aware that air expands more than liquid.
Air expand. Air expand more than liquid plus liquid evaporated when heated.Niu2009\" post_id=\"2040845\" time=\"1633413855\" user_id=\"33495:

The question mentioned liquid filling and this is P6 level science. So my guess will be liquid filling expanded.
Sounds like the MCQ is tricky with a lot of close answers! Probably it is deceptively easy and not really easy. -

Good luck to those taking higher mother tongue on the last day. :rahrah:
It seems like most Primary 6 kids have finished their not very pleasant experience with PSLE, so they just leave their hyped-up parents to wax lyrical about what COULD have been.
Only 1 day remain for those unfortunate souls who have to take higher mother tongue. For the rest of the cohort, you have more than a month of uninterrupted time for yourself to sit in front of that Xbox. You deserved that. Enjoy! But it does get boring after a while... so maybe do a bit of reading to find out what's in store for you in Secondary school. -

My child recalled the following
我的孩子说这题怪怪的。好像后面漏字。感觉如果是警察负责___居民的安全意识。
这样句子才完整,选\"提高\"就算对。
警察的工作是来抓坏人,____________ 人民的安全。
1)注意
2)——
3)保护
4)提高
What is the correct answer? -

In which case those who took it at face value and came out announcing very easy could be in trouble
Probably, don't forget that each MCQ is worth 2 marks. Get 3 or 4 wrong, then out of AL1 already, unless paper B gets full marks, which I believe is highly unlikely, sure to have a few marks here and there deducted one.

One more question, anyone know the complete question and answer?

Sorry, I can't answer your question. But you should be very proud of your kid's ability to remember, even though its only half of the question!
