          Triple Pure Sciences students in TKGS

          are allowed to take

          only 1 Combined humanities
          (ie. Social Studies + an Elective, either Elective History or Elective Geography or Elective English Literature ). This is TKGS school policy set.

          For all O level students,
          MOE made it compulsory for students to take the Combined Humanities, which accompany Social studies.

          ==========================

          If you are taking GCE \"O\" level Economics, which is considered a SECOND Humanities subject, therefore you become restricted to taking only maximum
          \"Double\"
          Pure Sciences. That is

          choose either
          - ( Economics + Pure Chemistry + Pure Physics)

          OR
          choose

          - (Economics + Pure Chemistry + Pure Biology) Sec 3 subject combination.

          Since Chemistry is compulsory, whether you prefer to take up O level (Physics or Bio), need to decide now at the end of Sec 2, if you are considering Economics and taking into account what A-level subjects you likely to pick.

          Example

          If you are likely to take A-level H2 Physics, then you will have to pick O-level Physics first, right ?

          Of course, if you are taking Economics, then the other standard subjects in TKGS, will be

          4) Standard English
          5) Standard Chinese (bu-hua)
          6) the compulsory Social Studies + Elective

          7) Elementary Maths
          😎 Additional Maths

          Total : already reached 8 subjects combination

          For those who proceed to take Higher Chinese, will be considered Total 9 subjects combination

          Note
          =====

          Economics not allowed (forbidden) for Triple Pure Sciences students , in TKGS.

          If you seriously want to pursue O-level Triple Pure Sciences,

          Sorry,

          TKGS DON'T allow you to go along with Economics.

          Why so strange,
          don't allow Economics, to go along with Triple Pure Sciences ?

          This,
          you need to consult Principal of TKGS, together with her HOD (Economics). Principal will explain the reason(s) behind.

            Just another quick question - how come higher Chinese is considered additional subject? I thought it’s either pu hua or higher chinese and for those taking higher chinese they can take Pu hua in O levels at not sure Sec 3 or Sec 4?

              If you are taking O-level (Higher Chinese, gao-hua), you sit for this exam only at the end of Sec 4, in November.

              But what will happen to you first, come Sec 3 ?

              In Sec 3,
              you will first have to sit for your O-level (Standard Chinese, bu-hua).

              In short,

              you need to clear your Sec 3 O-level (bu-hua) first,

              before
              you are allowed to sit for Sec 4 O-level (gao-hua), next.

              After clearing your gao-hua, only then can you enjoy your 2 discounted points offset against L1R5, for admission into a Junior College.

              ========================

              Why, like that ?

              Because

              MOE
              does NOT allow
              students to take both O-level (bu-hua and gao-hua) concurrently, within the SAME year. MOE want you to focus and concentrate upon ONE Chinese National exam paper at a time, so that you can do well. Yes, one, at a time !

                  Hello parents, can I check is it a must to buy the TKGS skirt and when will they get to wear that?

                  And can I just get white running shoes with coloured stripes etc ?

                  Thanks

                    Since we are on uniforms, can I also ask - why some students wears pinafore, while others skirts? Is it to differentiate lower and upper secondary students?

                      Don’t need to buy skirt as it is for prefects only. Pinafore will be for the rest of the students. School shoes must be 100% white (soles can be black). Discipline is very strict in TKGS. Must follow school rules.
