Tourists from China should form quite a big proportion of the incoming tourists here I guess…more difficult for us to earn their money then?

If you are people from China, will you take the risk to travel to Singapore where having more than 3K Covid 19 cases per day and spending 21 days for Quarantine period when you are back to China??

Many do come here, but surely not to tour but to visit their loved ones working or studying here.

‘‘VISITOR arrivals to Singapore rose to 18,520 in July, the highest since April, while hotel performance also improved…The vast majority of visitors in July continued to be from mainland China, with 12,670 such arrivals, up from 6,900 in June. At a distant second was Hong Kong, with 750 arrivals, and the United States with 685.’’–ST

Administratively, don’t even think about it until both sides have ironed out the vaccines that each recognises for VTL. Wang Yi came and left without VTL in sight.

Politically, don’t even dream about XJP opening up to the world now. Xi is not even attending G20 in Oct.

Mind you there’s 二十大 in Nov 2022. Besides Winter Olympics Feb 2022 which China has banned all international spectators, Xi must sort out the power outage crisis/coal shortage, Evergrande 恒大 crisis, global supply chains shifting out to SEA/TW/JPN/ROK/US, rising unemployment, etc. Xi must ensure no social unrests break out in HK and to prevent that, HK cannot open up freely to westerners before 二十大 in Mar yet。 Nothing untoward must happen to make Xi look bad before his re-election to 3rd term next year. He’s under a lot of domestic pressure to justify his lifelong presidency.

You go in and pollute his country with Delta, wait he gets a poor report card at 两会 (usually in Mar) before his cadres! 算了吧!

But… but… the Dear Leader is the permanently installed emperor who cannot be removed no matter how good or bad he is at his job. Who cares about us underlings polluting ourselves with diseases?

Wait for 95% of that age group to be vaccinated with our Temasek invested BioNTech first. Then MOH will wayang wayang allow it. Can?

President Xi cherish all his people lives and therefore insist the \"zero case policy\" in China to prevent his people died from Covid 19. He has brought good life to his people. Great Chinese Leader.
