Is Dr Yuen's death preventable if he completed 2 dorsed of vaccination instead of just 1 dorse only?

Plus 14 days, very likely.

Doubt so 2nd jab would have make a difference. You can go search how effective those vaccines are (avoid bias nationalistic source, direct or derivatives). Hard evidence on that vaccines aren't as many and authoritative as Pfizer and Moderna. Anecdotal ineffectiveness examples showing quite a few countries decided to stop using it. We will see how well it plays out when China and HK fully open up to embrace the Delta variants next year when abandoning zero covid strategy.
Like I replied to someone else on this forum a few days ago, it is precisely this kind of view that leads to vaccine hesitancy. I will not dignify them with an answer anymore.

I now espouse the view, take whatever available vaccine you are comfortable with. Just go get it before it is too late.

You call what we have here in Singapore \"open\" compared to China and HK? :rotflmao:

Some valid questions are: Is Dr Yuen's death preventable if he has been warded for observation upon diagnosis given his risk profile (i.e. partially vaccinated and above 64 years old)? Is enough medical assistance and follow up provided to patients on home recovery scheme, giving them the best shot at survival rather than leaving them to their own fate in order to \"protect the healthcare system\" that is not yet tuned to the \"endemic state\".
Dr Yuen's case seems to show we are entering TRIAGE stage where \"someone\" decides who should live and who should die, when hospital resources are overwhelm.
Dr Yuen is considered high risk but yet was told to recover at home. Who make this recommendation, GP or MOH?

This case shows that there are sporadic incidences when patients are sent home to die, just like what happened in
Europe last year. The deadly home recovery in Italy 2020.

I guess normally we wish not to stay together with family members when get infected but staying alone has its risk too.

Would that be the same Colin Powell who killed hundreds of thousands of Iraqis with a vial of washing powder at the UN?

Well, I suppose all is forgiven because he later called it a \"blot\" on his record. 🤷

Anyone confused/angered by OYK's \">150k-cases milestone\" statement yesterday?

https://www.straitstimes.com/multimedia/the-big-story-spores-covid-19-strategy-not-a-flip-flop-says-ong-ye-kung

Singapore did not take a purist \"zero-Covid\" or \"living with Covid\" approach, but adopted an eradication strategy when the population was vulnerable before opening up progressively after vaccination had given Singaporeans a protective shield.

Aren't we living with Covid now, since MTF has decided to abandon the zero-Covid strategy, which in my dictionary means eradication strategy? And did vaccination give Singaporeans a protective shield? Boosters might though.

You said you did not expect the spike so fast, but you have to scramble to create more beds in pte hospitals and appealed to allied healthcare professionals to join the Corps. Last I read from alternative media in Msia that https://www.hmi.com.sg/corporate-info/ has quietly gone to Msia to recruit more contract MOs.

Meanwhile, US has downgraded Singapore one more time to the highest-risk category of countries -- Level 4.

Does that means we are not going be that aggressive now? If yes, I m happy  whenever I see low cases from import category, I somehow have feeling they are careful, yup I feel more relaxed..at least for now.
