2010 P1 Registration Exercise for 2011 In-Take
-
I was in Phase 2C when we registered DD1.
I went on the first day, before noon. Not too
many people.
I could also get to watch
children in action with school activities on
way in and out. Brought kiddies along..
After that we went out for a lunch out
and a movie together.
The registration process itself will take only
minutes. As long as you have brought all the
relevant stuff required.
It is a neighbourhood school... We didn't even
bother with stats. We just went with proximity
and convenience over top sch not top sch and
whatever nots. The school now is slowly
ranking up, so a neighbourhood sch may not
necessarily be inferior. Though we're
moving soon, we'd stick to this school for its
rich aesthetic programmes & also familiarity.
It feels nice that we know all the teachers &
they know us too. Almost like good friends.
Security staff are also on first name basis
with us and it is comforting to know our
children are in safe hands.
A new principal also brings in fresh new ideas
and you can tell that a good principal can
inspire good teachers + staff.
While there are teachers who spoil market, i
believe that when sch takes initiative to work
with parents.. it's a win-win situation for our
children. The key to it is feedback and not
complains. Unless of course for very jialat
case la.

Hi everyone…
Last year I was watching the P1 registration thread, can’t imagine it’s my turn this year. Very kan cheong… -
LKVM:
My first choice West Grovesc88:
sc88 West Grove looks very hot leh :faint:
Yap Rulang worst... But everyone trying Rulang as first choice. What is your first choice and second choice of your primary school.
2nd Choice is still not so much decided
but Juying or Pioneer
I am in 2C
Juying Primary is a single session.
West Grove and Pioneer Primary is double session.
Further, do you look out for Higher Chinese ?
As Pioneer Primary have Higher Chinese and also have Rhythmic Gymnastic & Chinese Dance. I really like my DD to join Gymnastic but not all Singapore Primary Schools have, very limited .

Watching the action and being in the HEAT of the action are
two different things my friend! It'll be fun! Enjoy while the
adrenaline rush lasts! :celebrate: After all it's only once
in a life time... .. unless of course one intends to
register their children in different schools! :faint: -
Hi,
I still cannot decide to register in Phase 2A2 (popular school but 40 mins from my place) or Phase 2C (balloting required).
:? :?: -
If I were you, I would register under Phase 2A2 first and then judge during Phase 2C if the odds are too high to risk going through the balloting process...
Good luck, concern! :xedfingers: -
concern:
Of course 2A2 options is the first choice . As I always says must think twice of your school distance when it comes to tuitions and CCA or alumni courses.Hi,

:? :?:
Secondly, whether you have any younger child to take care of or if yes, anyone or maid to take care of your younger child.
Not easy for me like my case as I have no one to help me.
I will die if I have to fetch my Dd if it is 40 mins walk with my younger son along so hot weather and worst if it is during thunder storm /raining seasons, how? Normally the courses takes about one and a half hrs , which means is to says u have to stay in school and wait for her to finish her lessons. :faint:
Further, School bus won't fetch your Dd or Ds. Only of normal school days.
All this points must really put into considerations. -
Agree with RRMummy on gong with the 2A2 first,
especially if the 40mins travelling time can be done
by you or your spouse sending your child instead of
via transport…
I am assuming popular school to be single session?
So 40mins travel means one of the earliest to be picked
up by transport. Mine travels 25mins-30mins though it is
nearby due to the circling around the neighbourhood fetching
other friends. -
This will be the website to check if not daily for vacancies available during the registration exercise.

buds:
Currently for P1/P2 are still in the afternoon session. I am waiting for MOE to update the website to determine if the school will be moving to a temporary location during the upgrade.Agree with RRMummy on gong with the 2A2 first,
