Don't you wish there is a web service where you just put in your AL score and your address and up pops your 6 nearest secondary schools that you can apply to? 😂 It doesn't seem to be so difficult to build.

Isnt MOE schoolfinder doing this already?

      https://www.moe.gov.sg/schoolfinder?journey=Secondary%20school

So I input Toa Payoh and up pops:
      - CHIJ Toa Payoh (next door but my child is a boy)
      - Beatty Secondary (actually at Braddell but ok got direct bus down)
      - St Andrew’s Secondary (actually at Potong Pasir MRT, NEL)
      - Maris Stella High (actually at Bartley MRT, CCL)
      - Bartley Secondary (actually at Bartley MRT, CCL)
      - Cedar Girls’ Secondary (again…)

      Suuuuuuper useful.

On the other hand, I have 4 direct buses to SJI, which is only 18 min away including walking (2 bus stops’ journey). But it is zoned under Novena by MOE.

I input AL12-14 ang mo kio
SNGS, CHS are still appeared because the range is still within for their affiliated primary.

Hi parents, i am still quite confused.

            Need advise on this scenario:

School X cop at AL 12.

Student A gotten AL 11 and put School X for her 3rd choice.

Student B gotten AL 12 and put School X for her 1st choice.

Student A did not manage to get into her 1st and 2nd choice.

So now, will Student A has priority over Student B for School X?

Thank you for clarifying this, greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Yes, the one that MOE provides is based on distance, but is too general. The should make it more specific to S1 selection, with the parameters as proposed by @https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/memberlist.php?mode=viewprofile&u=58173. THAT, I would use.

Merit first before citizenship & choice order
A with AL11 gets priority even if he put school X in the last choice

Let me try. Essentially, I think Student A will get School X because he has a better score that Student B. The first rule is still based on the score.

Yes, student A still has priority over student B. Choice order priority applies only when tie break.

Would the following be logical for AL8M? Thinking of schools not in the far East/West. Can the expert parents here help advise? Thanks in advance 🙂

                        1) ACSI or NJC
                        2) SJI-IP
                        3) SJI-O
                        4) VS-O
                        5) MS
