I think citizenship comes before choice order. So a Singaporean AL14 who places school at 6th choice gets into the school first before PR/International AL14 student at 1st choice.

Sorry to say, but this is an example of a terrible selection.

If all things remain the same, you have only managed to clear 2 schools COP - for 3rd and 6th choice - by only 1 point. If t-scores movement were any indication, the PSLE COP score is likely to move up or down by 2 points. P/S: Mid-tier schools often see the greatest movement!

If both schools go up by 1, and the rest stays where they are, you could effectively be left with no selection after choice merit / balloting. If MOE can’t post you to any of your choices, you are subject to MOE posting.

Rather than see the last 3 as fillers, better off to spend some time and consider schools in the 16 and below range in case the first 3 didn’t work out.

Yes, you must have applied to the school in one of your 6 choices. The appeal would stand a better chance if it was your first choice.

All 12 classes each, max 400 per cohort. But normally about ~380. They are top schools, so their campus is huge, so among sec schools, they had big intake.

Would the following school choices be too risky for an AL7? Any advice will be very much appreciated.

We are in the southwest, DD prefers IP over IB, we’re not considering SAP schools, and DD’s more STEM inclined. We are unsure whether to remove #1, and to switch #2 with #3 (because of negative reviews abt rundown infra and facilities, and teachers). #4-6 are ranked based on the score of the 1st girl who got in last year rather than the COP. TQ!

Your order of selection looks odd to me, but I noticed that you are leaning towards Catholic schools. I am not overly familiar with Catholic schools, but does your daughter come from affliated primary school of CHIJ SJC?

If yes, then I think CHIJ SJC will be safe for you.

Otherwise, you need to take note that most of those schools you selected have affiliated primary schools, leaving limited vacancies for others.

You may want to consider filling up more with AL15 schools in between, and maybe an AL16 school as safety net.

AL7 will have very little or no chance for RGS because RGS 2020 COP of 260 is already about 3 to 4 t-score marks higher than best AL7 COP school in 2020 (St Nic 257). Furthermore, with AL system, there will now be a larger pool of AL6 students vying for RGS. (e.g. 258 259 students). Hence leaving very little hope for AL7

If the inclination is to go to IP girl school, perhaps you should consider putting SCGS IP as 1st choice and NJC as 2nd choice.

after reading through the pages, its seem to me many students got below AL10, so I bet there will be many balloting for IP schools.

Only MOE has the distribution of PSLE AL scores.
The following figures are used:
68.4% for the Express course: AL4-20
18.9% for the Normal (Academic): AL21-24 where AL21-22 has the option to choose Express / N(A).
and 11.1% for the Normal (Technical): AL25-30 where AL25 has the option to choose N(A) / N(T).
Assumption: AL8 is the top 10%
