Hi just like to share something about the school since my child finished P6 this year. My husband and I worked very hard to get into this school (move nearby etc) but in the end, I was abit disappointed with the school. Firstly there is no field for the kids to run or do activities, this one is pertaining to the physical facilities. I should have checked before going but you never knew how important a field is until you see your kid growing up.

As for the bookstore, finally next year they will get a new vendor and I hope they offer buying of textbook online. For the past years it was very inconvenient to deal with the textbook buying. Also in the booklist they put in alot of stuff that were never used. So for parents going into primary one, please check the stationery list. The same thing is repeated in pri two, so if you dont check, you end up with two sets of the same thing and for art, alot of items bought were never used. Some reference books are the same too, so if you bought it in year 1, dont buy it in year 2. Hopefully the new vendor has a different style.

Next, for the higher chinese part, I was rather upset about it because my child studied it all the way till primary 5, which was when covid lockdown happened. So in 2020, the result was not good for higher chinese, the teacher simply informed us that the subject should be dropped for p6. Despite me emailing in to appeal, there wasnt even a reply.

I can only conclude that they were more concern about their KPI for higher chinese grades being affected than giving a chance to my child to continue in P6. After all it was a covid year with lots of zoom classes, they should have given a second chance, I didnt like the way they handled the issue. To think that one of the reason we came to nanhua is for the higher chinese! and having that subject taken away at P6 is such a terrible waste.

So that’s all I want to share. There are still merits to the school, their science notes are very good. And the teachers of various subjects gave remedial classes in the P6 year to help kids catch up and revise.

All the best to the kids going in 2022.

Hi, Recognition Day + Graduation Ceremony photos are ready for viewing (it seems that there’s no package deal this time round)

Nanhua Pri is using the campus of Jinshan Pri (merged with Clementi Town pri), and it used to have this gigantic field which is now The Trilinq. It must have been one of the biggest fields in a pri sch, with a very old tree at the extreme end of field. Adults used to warn us not to go near that tree (can't rem the exact reason). Miss those days when everywhere felt more spacious.

Hmmm, we don't recall any gigantic field at the Jalan Lempeng site (& I don't find such a description on the school map too). There are the Indoor Sports Hall, the parade square, the mini playground near gates A&B

Gigantic field in Jin Shan Pri's time, in the 1990s. The field is as big as the entire Trilinq estate.
