May I know what do students learn in computing in Sec 1 & 2 and in infocom club? My ds has a keen interest in python and has learnt some basics during the school holidays. I’m not sure whether to let him continue with weekly lessons or learn in school instead. Thanks for any inputs.

It should be easy to pick up python via youtube videos. What is more important is the imprinting that your child will get, through projects that require python or something that can nail the language down more solidly. Does the infocom club offer projects, or just learning the language? If it is just learning, well, might as well do it yourself.

Hi, a quick question about 3rd language. My DS opt for Malay special Programme. Is this conducted in DHS itself? As I need to fill up the form for transport to the 3rd language center at Bishan. TIA!

Yes, MSP is taught in the school. I thought my son was going to give up but he surprised me by saying that he will continue into Year 3. In Yr 1 & 2, all DHS students also do conversational Malay (non examinable)
