You'll still get reinfection of Covid even if you had caught it. It is basically like common flu where our immune body cannot fight off all flu variants 100% even if it has gone through multiple variants and multiple vaccinations (this is why flu vaccinations are annual thing and not like taking polio or smallpox vaccines). At anytime, your body will host many variants of less harmful microbes, e.g. streps without causing you any symptoms. If you have a weaken immune system say from stress factor or nutrition defiencies, you can temporary give these microbe a chance to become symptomatic.

As for mask, it isn't 100% effective against Covid transmissions (see https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/nov/17/wearing-masks-single-most-effective-way-to-tackle-covid-study-finds).

As for you to hoping to get Covid while still having triple shots effectiveness probably isn't rational considering:
•
Reinfection can happen
    •
Vaccinated even with 3rd booster still has Covid death risk (Israel going for 4th jab recommendation, and I'm expecting similar situation in 2022 for us).
    •
When you're infected, you will pose as a health risk to those not vaccinated, partially vaccinated, and children around you (Singapore extremely unlikely to reach 100% Covid vaccination rate in our lifetime unless we close all borders to all immigrants and stop having babies).
    •
Thanks. I know it is still possible to get reinfected. But I do believe that what doesn't kill you only makes you stronger. As you said, the mask is not effective, and I've no idea how I caught the cold. It means I can still get covid even if I am religious with using masks. So my point is simple. Just live life as per normal. Forget about all the covid restrictions. Forget about all those daily reports on covid. It doesn't matter if the cases are rising or dropping. Life is too valuable to waste on shutting ourselves down from everyone else. Go get vaccinated, 3 shots, 4 shots, whatever is available. This will help you manage the virus when you get exposed, and you know you will be at some point in your life. If you catch the virus, so be it. Recover and move on with life.

After that what happened? 3rd guy taught them fixed the issue and got chopped in return?
I admire your humor and intelligent. You are the best.... :rotflmao:

          Your Point is noted. However,

          1. There are people cannot make it and die from Covid 19 Complication.

          2. Most of us are not shutting ourselves down from everyone else, we are still coming to office to work and attending social gatherings up to 05 persons with our relatives and friends.

          3. By law, we cannot violate the Safe Management Measures imposed by our Government.

          4. You caught an unlinked case of cold does not imply the Safe Management Measures are redundant.

I'm not an engineer! But I agree with ChiefK. For me, since it seems inevitable that we will catch it sooner or later, and (hopefully) catching it will neither be serious and maybe even protective against repeated infections, my feeling is \"get it over and done with\" rather than be fearful that it will happen at a very inconvenient time. I'm also in my late 50s - if it's safer to get it when you're younger, then I'd rather get it sooner rather than later.
But you can get Covid again.

I think I'm as well aware of this covid situation as anyone else who has been reading news about the pandemic. Nothing else we can read, anyway... almost every page is about the pandemic in the newspaper for the last 2 years! I am aware of what is happening, \"safe management measures\", etc.

If you know how careful I have been in masking up and keeping away from people, you will agree with me that me catching anything from anyone is very difficult šŸ˜„ Yet I caught a cold after 3 years of not having one.

So yes, those safe management measures generally work, but there will be lapses. Don't think they will protect you all the way. My point is simply: \"Do all you can to prevent the disease, get vaccinated asap, follow the rules, etc. But if you catch the virus, so be it. Pray that the vaccine helps mitigate the effects, and know that there will be a better tomorrow.\"

True, but in general, every infection should make you somewhat more resistant. In any case, you can get sick in so many ways, and die from so many things, that Covid, as it looks now, isn't the same scary thing it was in Feb 2020. So I'm prepared to lighten up and loosen up.

I collected the free mask from the vending machine.

The L size seems slightly big for me.

Can you describe how thick it is, and how the material feels? I found the last mask they gave out too thick and \"woolly\" in feel. I like those NDP merlion masks that were handed out in 2020 - light and smooth. I won't bother to collect if I don't think I'll wear it.

And does anyone know where I can get masks made of the same material as those merlion masks?
