Not true. Chung cheng high is sap sch, majority of students take HCL, so the affiliation pt is not impt. Most students would have HCL n CCA 4 pts already
I still think njc/vjc are much better, as these 2 JCs had their IP batches. nyjc had many chung cheng students who went in with affiliation marks, so COP appears high. Njc does not have any affiliation with any other sec schools, so their COP is true. -

NJC IP student cohort is about 250 (25%), so JAE will form majority.
NJC/VJC are IP schools. Hence, not many places are left for JAE students, even though JAE students probably take up about 50% of the JC intake. It's still a reduction in the number of places available.
As for NYJC, do you have statistics to prove that many Chung Cheng students chose this JC? Because my source told me otherwise.
Most Chung Cheng students who are going JC (2 schools, main and yishun) will choose nyjc, due to the advantage of natural 4 affiliation points. -

Is this an assumption or a fact?

Affiliation only gives you two (2) bonus points, not four (4).
It's rather difficult to get into NYJC even with affiliation because of the school's low COP (low COP means difficult to get in). Hence, it cannot be \"most Chung Cheng students who are going JC will choose NYJC\"
NYJC's intake is about 700-800. CCHMS' yearly intake is about 350. Out of these 350, about 50% obtained at least five distinctions (A1/A2). Depending on the type of distinctions, not everyone in this 50% qualifies for NYJC. For simplicity sake, let's assume all these 50% qualify for NYJC. So, there are about 175 students. Let's further assume the same numbers for CCHYS (which is highly unlikely). So, both CCHMS and CCHYS have 350 students. Even if all 350 students apply and qualify for NYJC, they only make up maximum 50% of NYJC's yearly intake. So, I can't see why NJC or VJC's COP is more \"true\" than NYJC.
In fact, I can go one step further to say that the proportion of CCH's students in NYJC is less than the proportion of IP students in NJC. -
Just to add on. The affiliation 2 points is likely used by those who did not take HCL.
So max. of 4 bonus pts is same for ALL JC.
For anyone from CCHM or CCHY, they still need min. raw score of 10 for L1R5 to be eligible. -

All affliated ( CCHM +CCHY ) O-level students need Raw score 10 points (L1R5) or even better, in order to come back to their affliated Nanyang Junior College, if Nanyang JC COP is 6.
Work the same identical way as the affliated Victoria school O-level boys, who need minimum Raw 11 (or better ) to discount to nett 7, if VJC COP is 7 points. VJC offer affliation only to the boys, but not to the O-level Cedar girls.
So, for those Chung Cheng High students armed with Raw 10, they have a choice. If still desire Nanyang JC, can enter based on affliation status. Otherwise, if not keen, but managed to clear HCL, can go Victoria or National or Eunoia JC, or others. -

Correct, NJC only gives 2 points for HCL, raw score better than 9 points. 10 points raw score cannot go NJC.

What I see is not this case. Not all the top scoring students will chose RI/HCI. The 266 and 265 from my child primary school went to Dunman high, not RI/HCI. So top 3% student are present in other school too.
their IP students already top 3% of every cohort. there is no other schools that can come close to them.
Anyway, my discussion was more on the saying of not only looking at academics standard. To consider more dimensions. Am saying NYJC ethos has its attractiveness to some. -

Agreed, just that their COP is always close to 260, so most of their students are in top 3%. Definitely some went to other top 10% IP schools.

Tying back to the initial discussion of you prefer NJC/VJ to NYJC because NYJC student getting some help from affiliation bonus point thus the true academic strength is not what it seem. I have this observation to share too: A few 26x from my child primary school went to Chung Cheng high main. If they proceed to NYJC, then NYJC would have RI/HCI caliber students too.

My child is from a below average primary school. If it is producing examples of RI/HCI are not getting all the top students at S1 and JAE, I think most primary schools will also have such cases too.
I do agree RI/HCI will get alot of the top students. But cannot be no other school come close
