All affliated ( CCHM +CCHY ) O-level students need Raw score 10 points (L1R5) or even better, in order to come back to their affliated Nanyang Junior College, if Nanyang JC COP is 6.

Work the same identical way as the affliated Victoria school O-level boys, who need minimum Raw 11 (or better ) to discount to nett 7, if VJC COP is 7 points. VJC offer affliation only to the boys, but not to the O-level Cedar girls.

So, for those Chung Cheng High students armed with Raw 10, they have a choice. If still desire Nanyang JC, can enter based on affliation status. Otherwise, if not keen, but managed to clear HCL, can go Victoria or National or Eunoia JC, or others.

What I see is not this case. Not all the top scoring students will chose RI/HCI. The 266 and 265 from my child primary school went to Dunman high, not RI/HCI. So top 3% student are present in other school too.

Anyway, my discussion was more on the saying of not only looking at academics standard. To consider more dimensions. Am saying NYJC ethos has its attractiveness to some.

Agreed, just that their COP is always close to 260, so most of their students are in top 3%. Definitely some went to other top 10% IP schools.

Tying back to the initial discussion of you prefer NJC/VJ to NYJC because NYJC student getting some help from affiliation bonus point thus the true academic strength is not what it seem. I have this observation to share too: A few 26x from my child primary school went to Chung Cheng high main. If they proceed to NYJC, then NYJC would have RI/HCI caliber students too.

My child is from a below average primary school. If it is producing examples of RI/HCI are not getting all the top students at S1 and JAE, I think most primary schools will also have such cases too.

I think when RI/HCI get more of the top students than other schools , that doesn’t make them in a different league. If that is the case, every subsequent school next in rank will be in a league of their own because they will each get more better score students than the next school ranked below them.

And also other schools are also getting :grphug: RI/HCI caliber students, like a good likelihood in my NYJC example :rahrah:

So I think RI/HCI is not in another league lah. And I think you can proceed to compare RI/HCI with NYJC and still prefer RI/HCI becuase their COP is lower :salute:
