Congrats mathsparks! Happy for you! :celebrate:Sharing some very happy news, finally, after years of mil staying with us,
we'll be moving to a smaller place and she won't be moving in with us.
We're not kicking her out, but her 2 other sons have spare rooms for her. So, yep, I'm really over the moon. Smaller place, but lots of freedom. :rahrah: Though a 4th room would've allowed us to have a study room, it would also mean the mil would decide to stick to us. So we consciously avoided those 4roomers. :rahrah: -
:thankyou: auntiem. hope things work out for you and your sils.

Me will stay away from trouble for sure.. ...Let them focus on handling MIL lor :nunchuk: -
Just half a day and this thread went so many pages
Mrs Ang,
I don't call MIL too...there was once I did so and guess what, she told my SIL she 应酬我. As it is, I don't even have any topic with her during CNY. For goodness sake, as if I need to be entertained. From then on, no way am I going to call her on the phone anymore :x Each time I talk to her, I get boiled up. The last time, she told me she doesn't know where SGH is...I told her, 'it's ok you don't know where SGH is, but the taxi driver knows'. On 1st day of CNY, I had to entertain her since hubby has to stay at home after his op. She said she is very old and blur. I told her, 'My grandmother also very blur blur like you'. -
Father’s Day is round the corner. Another makan session, but this time without hubby around (gone overseas).

this thread moved so fast today. busy today so reading again.
I used to share room with my sis, and after I married, I also lazy to clear out. But then my parents shifted, so reluctantly, I had to clear out my old stuff. Trust me, it's just laziness rather than any need for world domination. Speak to them nicely lah...I really don't see a problem. You guys not after inheritance, just making use of expensive real estate.Jennifer:
We are not staying with them now. We moved to our own place when #2 turned 2 plus. Both SILs were not married yet. In fact, they have so much things that I offered our wardrobe to house their clothings.
Though they married n have their own place, their old rooms are not vacant. Many possessions still around.
We have never spoken abt moving back n needing those rooms. Cant blame ILs or SILs

same same as hquek... heheheee -

that's the reason why i'm a bit siao siao right?
Boiled issues take time to cool and some serious issues take forever to be
forgotten and sometimes at the expense of someone getting heart attack
first. Just that, having so much hate everyday (esp since i live with my ILs)
is an extremely tiring feeling. Somehow, i suppose i just have more tolerant
factor... so most times i ren. Not that i condone or agree but just that it is
pointless. I also believe in karma... things have a way of coming round one
way or another. It is scary.
:siao:
else how to 过日子?buds:
I did. At least once a week. I get her presents on her birthday. I treat herMrs Ang:
The most stupid remarks from my sils is \"why you didn't call my mother often?\" Omg!!! I don't even call my mum often since was so busy being a FTWM. Does anyone in KiasuParents forum called their mils often?
to lunch and massage and the occasional movie treats too. But still... i am
in no way a good DIL ever in her eyes... and the fact is even clearer after
she blatantly showed how proud she was of SIL having given birth to their
ONLY grandson. Even SIL thought it felt awkward cos they've never been
close and also were at loggerheads quite often. She was the more vocal
sort of DIL and very bochap.
i did that too! i'm always the pusher and booker of everyone's time to make sure everyone is around for their birthday dinners, mother's day and father's day dinner! gifts and gifts - not cheap ones ok! and not to mention we have to pay up for all the dinners, SIL's whole family will get to eat free and they are not peiseh about it too.
The truth is, IL only have two kids, one boy and one gal and each have three kids each. I have 2 boys and 1 gal. but MIL prefer gals! so my kids also got to queue behind my SIL's kids! (but my gal still need to queue behind the 3 kids cos they are elder and they are more fortunate to be SIL's kids lah) and me worst lor... i don't even have a position to say anything at all in the family!buds:
i'm so happy for you!i'm pretty excited about the fact
that we are soon to move to our new place very soon. I never thought i wud
see the day...

you are lucky. my MIL always call me on the mobile WHILE I'M AT WORK complaining about ME or MY MAID. She will be at it for hours and she CAN ONLY BE RIGHT. like how I just rushed off to work without going to her room to let her know, so disrespectful etc etc... I mean, you also know that I'm going off already, why did you go back to your room and expects me to go to your room and kowtou to you and tell you I'm going off to work??? Anyway, she is so famous in my office that when my colleagues saw me with my mobile without saying a lot, they all know its my MIL.
I remember there was 1 time b4 we married, my MIL called my office (dunno where she got the number) and complaint to me till 1 hour
I was so :x and told my \"b/f\" (hubby) tell your mum don't call my office any more. Since then she don't call me but my hubby. :celebrate:
