on good Chinese assessment to practice comprehension? Thanks.

Hi Grr_roxy,

During my DCs' PSLE time, we ditched the assessment books by the time P4 onwards. Especially more so at P6. Chances are you and your child will not have much time to spare. Exam papers are always the closest to national exam papers except somewhat harder. We do not follow the answer sheets of the exam papers, rather we get the school teacher and tutor to help. The only time I have to get 2 assessment books is when we finished completing 2019 to 2020 exam papers.

On the advice of Chen老师, we did 阅读理解（一），完成对话，阅读理解（二）A组 and B组 from 2017 and 2018 papers only. Thereafter at 2019 onwards, all components in the exam papers can be done.

So Chen老师 is right to say to use the exam papers rather than assessment books.

I find that it helps alot when we just focus on using the exam papers.

In fact, you should start now. All the best.

One issue students face during Oral examination is not being able to express their thoughts correctly/accurately due to their limited range of vocabulary. It is therefore important that they have a solid foundation – esp. when it comes to noun and verbs.

Any book of model compositions for pass year PSLE Chinese exams to recommend?

I was also looking for model compo of pass year PSLE Chinese questions and did not find any, until recently I chanced upon this book in Popular by EduVision (cover page purple in color). You can go and find it in Popular. My DD is reading it and told me the 作文 are very well written, better than the normal compo books. Got all 4 types of compo for both Normal Chinese and Higher Chinese.
