Phase 2B Aitong more than 2km I thought no hope? if you are banging on SHHK letter, I heard from friend that they declined to issue him the letter cos he is more than 2km, so no point wasting time. -
Thanks for your response. How about anderson, is this school good? Any advice if private tutor vs learning lab, which one is better?

Pri 1 registration July 6
SINGAPOREANS will get two ballot slips - one more than Permanent Residents - when they have to ballot for a place during the Primary 1 Registration Exercise which starts from July 6 and ends on Aug 30.
This change was announced last year as part of the Government's move to enhance the privileges of being a citizen and draw a clearer distinction between between Singaporeans and non-citizens.
During the Primary 1 Registration Exercise, places in schools are distributed according to a list of criteria. For instance, in Phase 1, places are for pupils with older siblings in the same school. Balloting is done when applicants outnumber places.
Previously, Singaporeans and PRs alike have one slip to ballot. But with an extra slip, Singaporeans will get a better chance to get into a school of their choice.
It was also announced that starting from next January, school fees for PRs and foreigners will be raised while that for Singaporeans will remain unchanged.
One new school Cantonment Primary will open in Cantonment Close in Bukit Merah and three schools will relocate next year.
All primary and full schools will open for registration from 8 am to 11 am and from 2.30 pm to 4.30 pm from Mondays to Fridays during the registration period.
Details on the list of primary schools and vacancies available can be found on the Primary One Registration website at http://www.moe.gov.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/. -

I didn't have time to read the newspapers today.

My friend was asking me this question:
If elder sibling only studied with the school for a year, ie. P1 and got a transfer out to another school in P2. Would the younger sibling is eligible to enrol under Phase 2A2 in the first school ? (as stated for a child whose parent or sibling has studied in the school of choice). Why 1st school not the current school? As the 1st school is co-ed and the current school is a boy school. Pls advise. Tks -

The younger sibling will be able to register under Phase 1 in the current school the older sibling is studying, not the 1st school.
The younger sibling will not be able to join Phase 2A2 as the child does not have any older siblings GRADUATED from the 1st school. In this Phase, the term: \"sibling has studied in the school of choice\" refers to an older sibling who had already graduated from the school. Meaning the age gap between the siblings is greater then 6 years.
hope this answers your question. Otherwise, you can also send an email to MOE to get clarification. -
finally this is out http://www.moe.edu.sg/education/admissions/primary-one-registration/vacancies/
noticed that peihwa reduce 30 vacancies compare to previous year....
