An Alternative to Glasses
-
Hmm... interesting read. Brings me back to my earlier days. I don't remember when I started wearing glasses... but I think it must be when I was in P5 or 6. The usual blame was on the tons of story books I read... around 3 a day, but I usually hang on to books I like and reread them
Anyway, I was stuck with my glasses from when I wake and the only time I stopped was when I removed them to sleep at night. I think it grew from 150 to 200 degrees very quickly and now I'm suffering from 300 degrees with long sightedness, the blessing from old age. -
Yes indeed, I feel for some peeps it is your will-power. I read a lot too, and was told I had to wear glasses 150/100 during my primary school days. But I was inconsistent wearing them, either forgetting it or feel I don’t need them… by sec 2/3, I had perfect 20/20 eyesight and didn’t need glasses at all. I still have good eyesight now. Such a blessing!
Do encourage your children to have outdoor time, sufficient lighting and distance from what they see/read. Focus at a longer distance after some time if you read a lot! Tell yourself, you can see clearly… focus, look far, look at greenery and go outdoors. Of course, if you need glasses have them, do not strain your eyes.
An alternative to glasses, use cups! Jk… -
Thanks both, for the thumbs up!
Hi Chief, still the same penguin after all these years... :rahrah:
Yes, alot of will-power, stubborn persistence, and a secret, evil goal to prove the nurse wrong...ChiefKiasu\" post_id=\"2064935\" time=\"1650518872\" user_id=\"3:
oh ya, reminds me... my husband too...Anyway, I was stuck with my glasses from when I wake and the only time I stopped was when I removed them to sleep at night.
I told him to try not to wear glasses at home, he can't do it... :nailbite:
It's as if he doesn't know the way to the toilet without his glasses... -

I believe you have a pair of beautiful eyes and therefore you have this kind of persistence. My eyes are ugly and putting on glasses make me look much more nicer so I cannot live without my glasses. I have no confidence to face others without my glasses and it become part of my fashion.
Thanks for the thumbs up!

For us who are wearing glasses, I cannot take down my glasses at home and wear it only when I am out... it is difficult for us, our eyes cannot adjust in this way....don't force you DH to do so.

For adults it’s hard.. as it’s been many years.. but for children it’s doable!

Wow! That's incredible! Nowadays, I have to take off my glasses whenever I had to use the computer. If I force myself to squint at the screen with my glasses, I will end up having difficulty to focus at far away things for at least 15mins. Sigh. Well, at least I still have my sight, and it is a blessing.

Indeed it is a blessing! Do wear sunglasses (especially adults) when outdoors though.
