Wouldn’t you consider DSA into top mainstream school like Anderson/ Bt Panjang with N stream?
Oh... you are talking about DSA into the N stream. Wouldn't that be tantamount to simply surrendering and saying the kid will not be good enough to get into Express? Sorry... I'm confused. :scratchhead:

I think…in those schools with triple track (Exp/NA/NT) the CO is for the school. So if score is unexpectedly better then school may allow higher track? Anyway subject based banding will kick in for all schools within next few years.

Still will have small number of applicants. Wont be 0. MOE has previously released some stats which mentioned all secondary schools had received DSA applicants, even neighborhood secondary schools.

Read some examples in this article: mentioned are Woodgrove Sec, Zhonghua Sec, Evergreen Sec.

          https://www.schoolbag.edu.sg/story/choosing-the-dsa-route[/quote]
On top of that, if you look into SchoolFinder, you will find several neighborhood schools with AL8 being admitted into the school, and that’s AFTER results were known.

Not everyone prioritize IP / top schools. Some just want to throw stones at their schools from the bedroom windows.

Apart from home distance, CCA may be a big consideration. My nephew DSA into a school in the east which was very good in floorball and soccer. The school is average but entry to the CCA would be very difficult as they only choose 1-2 new members if not from DSA

Bottom line, DSA is always about best fit for the child. Each has own needs and criteria. of course in KSP there is likely a skew towards the above average and elite schools

Our consideration is more on CCA and travelling time. Although our CCA does include the elite schools for DSA, we are not choosing them. The main reason is because my girl said she is not sure if she wants to do diploma or A levels at this point, hence she wants to keep her option open by doing O level. The travelling time is also longer for well known schools in our case.

Because of these reasons, our choices include average neighborhood school which we do not mind going.

hi, can i check if anyone of you has experience in successful DSA through dance? my gal has been learning ballet since 3 and she is a member of the chinese dance CCA in her primary school.

currently we are thinking of trying SOTA / SCGS or St Margarets. any comments? she is not particularly strong academically though. thanks
