Health wise I always think I m ok as rarely fall sick type..but when my plantar issue came..I was quite surprised actually asI consider myself taking care of my feet quite alot. After mid 30s I don't wear high heel to run. I pay quite alot of attention on comfort and protection of the feet. So really not sure why have it and looking back earlier than my mom when she first got it.

Well the only thing I can think of was I used to walk alot like 3km alternate day..but many ppl walk and walk more than me right...
MrsK, how is your pain these days? Walking, unless too painful, helps. Assuming one has a reasonable good gait and decent footwear.
Personally, I was managing plantar fasciitis thru some foot exercises, better fitting shoes ( gave up on sandals/slippers) and foot massages, and controlling my walking distances .

What got me over it was a coincidence. A side effect of reducing inflammation - mainly thru diet - drastically reducing sugar ( no sweets/desserts and reducing carbs) . Now I can go for long walks like 15-20 km, cycle 1-2 hrs , with feet tired but no pain.

I've been doing stretches and also wearing footwear with more cushioning, and attributed the reduction of plantar fasciitis to that. But I was also reducing carbs over the same period (without cutting out sweets altogether - that's a step too far for me!). Maybe that also helped although I hadn't linked them. Not sure how far I can walk as I don't do long walks, but I can do my normal walking without pain.

Thank you for sharing all these past memories related to computer. Instead of having a PC at home, I used to go a few Internet Cafes to surf net.

My favourite cafe is the one in Stamford Road, Capitol Building, near to City Hall MRT. It was called Chill Cafe. I could spend whole afternoon there.

Once upon a time, I was chatting with \"an middle age man\" in ICQ, then \"the man\" suddenly said he knew I was inside an Internet cafe in Stamford Road. I was so scared and left the cafe immediately. πŸ˜“

Sun, I thought I was recovering..then the other day after walking I felt the lain again. When I had it worst, I could feel pain when I got up from sitting position..like got water retention too. Now the pain is more on after walking. I will walk again maybe 2moro see how it goes.

Btw, is walking good for plantar sufferer? I don't know I just dont want to aggravate the inflammation.. carbo arh...yalor I ate rice as in full bowl rice more than last time..sugar I think I m quite in control..any idea if peanut butter will aggravate the condition..I just finished 1 tub..I have craving again waiting to go supermkt to buy.

:rotflmao: no wonder you are \"floppy (disk)\"!

TBH, I have no idea what ASL is also, though I started playing MS-DOS games after my PSLE! I had an IBM computer at home and joined Computer Club in Sec 1. We learnt DOS commands and Lotus 123 to draw circles and all kinds of geometric shapes. You must remember Alley Cat, Tapper, J-bird MS-DOS games?

I recall typing out my holiday assignments already in Sec 4 and JC using my dot matrix printer.
And somehow I was able to email the overseas universities and hotels to make booking, around the time when Singaporeans were able to apply for a PACIFIC NET account! My first email was [email protected] I think?? And instead of Goodle Chrome, we had NETSCAPE. Later there was IE and Firefox and so on...

Yes really do bring back memories… the dialling up onto the phone line. We played Golden Axe and Romance of the three kingdom using a floppy disk.

Not regular session, I am just an ageing aunty πŸ˜† -- may be 1-2 times a month - like join groups on hikes or me and DH go. But when I had plantar fasciitis under control, I could not even do 8 km - would pain the next days. I was just saying I am able to walk longer distances now.

What I meant is once the inflammation was controlled, the pain just doesnt reoccur. Before I felt I was managing plantar fasciitis ie- as long I didnt strain, as long as I had the high arch support footwear, as long as I diligently exercised the foot, I was ok. But after working on my diet, the inflammation reduced. so even though I dont do the above , my pain doesnt come back. But sticking to the food restrictions is a pain - no added sugars especially for one with a sweet tooth like me. I even cut down on dry fruits or take moderate serving of fruits because eventually sugar is sugar, even natural ones in fruit.

It's not going to be caused by food in that kind of one-off consumption. If food might be the cause, it will be from long consumption over a period of time, and indirectly through inflammation, as Sun mentioned above.

For remedies, read the page below for advice. It does not recommend stopping walking, although you should probably stop once you feel much pain. But from my experience, the pain generally wears off after a few steps, and stretching before walking will prevent the tightness that causes the pain.

Golden Axe! My favorite. And I was hooked onto Romance of the three kingdoms but I don't remember it well.

Then there's Civilisation which we installed on the PCs in MINDEF to play. So when there was an audit by the security team, the computer was flagged for violations because there were many \"The secret of writing has been discovered\" or \"The secret of horse-riding has been discovered\" and other \"secrets\"! πŸ˜‚
