DSA 2022

Don’t really know the selection criteria. SST got students with competition experience but no medals at all for test.
-
I noticed some schools have a specific Robotics or infotech or Innovation domain and I think Robotics competition winners will have an advantage. Just wondering if we apply to schools with Science domain , will robotics competition involvement be advantageous?

HCI sports domain send out invite for trial…
Any response for academic domain ? -

In DSA, it all depends on all candidates applying for the same sch and domain. Ip or non ip? Some schools look at potential in kid, while many look at their accomplishments

Unlikely if you are looking at IP schools or popular main stream schools. For SST, maybe.
From what I can gather online, most schools have spelled out the qualities / attributes that they are looking for in a Science talent - mostly academic results based. Competition results that they are looking for are mainly of the Olympiad variety. Robotics competitions are not mentioned, which can mean it’s not that relevant or that important for this talent area. -

Depends on which domain, applied for.
For schools with Science domain, will winning in robotics competition help ? No other science competition experience.
If your kid has exposure to \"Robotics\" competition,
SST and Secondary schools looking for \"STEM\" domain candidates will consider your kid. But lesser or zero impact, if the domain applied for is \"Science\".
Why ?
Because
The use of \"Robotics\" fall under the \"Technology\" specialization.
=============================
If someone else were to pose a similar question like kylene :
\"Instead of winning in Robotics competition, what if I (P6 kid) have won in \"Python\" programming language and applied under \"Science\" domain, will it help ? \"
The same answer !
If you have applied under \"STEM\" domain, not under \"Science\" domain, Yes, it does help.
Why ?
Because
\"Python\" programming language or coding, fall under another field called \"Information Technology\" (IT). Again, it is under \"Technology\" specialization.
Example
If you have applied to IP schools like National Junior College, under the \"STEM\" domain, then
winning in \"Robotics\" or Python programming language, does help ! -
NYGH has sent Innovation shortlisting.
