Is there any news on the PSLE 2022 common last topic? Are they tested or removed for this year??
There has not been an announcement saying they are removed so they should still be in (as of now). Last year, the announcement came on 23 June (2021), so unless something comes quickly or there is a change the ability to conduct lessons / sit for the exams I would assume they will be tested.

Let’s wait for the C+ surge in July/August before more info is announced. If you refer to the graph, it is 1.42 as of 24 June 2022, 12pm
Week on Week Infection Ratio. The graph is getting steeper.

Parents unfazed by rise in Covid-19 cases as schools reopen on Monday
        https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/schools-back-in-session-soon-but-parents-not-worried-about-covid-19-spike

Will parents continue to be unfazed if the cases keep rising ? The studies will be affected as there is no more HBL or zoom class for students if they missed school. In the past, the teachers will conduct live lessons with the students in class and at the same time, conduct live zoom for the pupils who are infected with C+.

The lives of students have been disrupted since 2020. The P6 pupils taking PSLE exam this year have HBL starting in P4 in 2020. How much do you think the students have learnt over these past years. The P6 mid-year exams will reflect the true answer. Good luck to all P6 taking their prelims soon.

I think we can assume that all the topics will be tested, since there was no period(s) of nation-wide HBL/school closure this year, neither is there any further large spike in number of cases. The teachers are already trying their best to finish up all the remaining topics by July.

Assuming that all topics will be tested, parents should get 2019 Prelim papers for their children to practise.

Did you clarify with your P6 kid school HODs for (Maths & Science) or with the VP (Academic) ?

Confirm with your own school management, first. They ought to know, what is to be included or excluded from PSLE syllabus, because they will contact SEAB to clarify, If they themselves are not sure. Being HODs, fetching a high monthly salary, it is their job, their role & responsibility to go and confirm, since they are preparing the entire school cohort of P6 students, to sit for PSLE National exam. They cannot say that they don't even know.

NEVER, NEVER assume anything, in life. It is very risky (dangerous) sometimes, to \" assume \" things in life. Can end up bearing a heavy costs / consequences.

If in doubt, just go and clarify with HODs in that subject, until you are absolutely clear and satisfied !

Yes, 2 full years of disrupted learning.. the crucial P4 Subject based banding and P5, where the bulk of the topics were taught (chop chop-ly). So I feel SEAB shd take this as a consideration as well. Their learning and preparation is not just in P6. Their foundation could have already been affected by P4 and P5 years.

Their standard answer will be “Need to wait for SEAB to announce.” I guess they can’t release any info until its official. 🤷

…Except be careful that in 2019 the Chinese exam was still under old syllabus vocab. So for Chinese use 2020 and 2021 papers as practice.

For this reason, I always (or at least previously) thought they would be out. But it seems like not, and as mentioned before I think kids of all ages have been impacted and there is no good time to get everyone back on track.

In the end, it doesn't matter much, as a) topics are a small portion of the exams and b) posting is still a relative outcome.
