For the gurus, any bold predictions? Think 2A at the powerhouse schools will still be at worst > 2 km or someone hits 1-2 km or < 1 km?
Total intake this year is about 3% lesser than last year. Day 1 for Phase 1 number is also 3% lower than last year's Day 1 number. Most schools would record all the numbers on day 1 barring some. Upwards for day 2 is around 5% overall.

Having said that, using current application numbers on day 1 for phase 1. and if we use last year 2A application numbers, 25 schools will be oversubscribed in 2A.

Fight zone may not necessarily be for alumni but also for MK.

I have Frontier and Gongshang as such examples.

Due to the density of the punggol area, it will not be surprising for 1-2km or even <1km balloting for punggol green and punggol view in 2A

Southview, Rulang and PHPPS would have huge deficits.

Chongzheng will test its distance balloting this year due to the low available number, now stand at 31 for 2A.

The usual 2A star of the show is usually SNGS, if we use last year 2A1 numbers plus a potential of 20 more in 2A2, although it may hit the biggest deficit eventually (minus 50), it may escape with a balloting at >2km in 2A (if phase 1 stay at 60, 30 lesser than last year)

Since there are many adjusting factors this year like minus 20 spots, more MKs and merging 2A1 and 2A2, its harder to guess the distance factor. But it will make future folks move closer in order to increase the odds.

Anyway, folks usually do not have many alternatives in 2A, so if you only have 1 choice, apply and wait for the results.

Below are the schools showing potential of oversubscription in 2A after day 1 phase 1.

      Pei Hwa Presbyterian
      Frontier Primary
      Rulang Primary
      South View Primary
      Gongshang Primary
      Pei Chun Public

            Yes. Excluded.
Thanks. So after subtracting the number of applicants from the available vacancies in Phase 1 is the vacancies for Phase 2A.

              In simple terms, yes

Subsequently, the balance from Phase 2A numbers will be subdivided in 1/3 and 2/3 proportion, and added to 20 and 40 for Phase 2B and 2C availability.

                  School vacancies

To ensure continued open access to all schools in later phases, we are reserving 20 places in each primary school in Phase 2B and 40 places in each primary school in Phase 2C. This means a total of 60 places reserved places will be set aside in all schools at the start of the P1 Registration Exercise.

In addition to these reserved places, one-third of any remaining vacancies at the end of Phase 2A will be allocated to Phase 2B, and two-thirds to Phase 2C.

A cap on the intake of Permanent Resident (PR) children will be applied in Phases 2C and 2C Supplementary in some schools, to prevent concentration of PR children in our primary schools. Learn about it.

Check for vacancies in your preferred schools during the P1 Registration Exercise. We will display the final balloting status of all schools at the end of each registration phase.

Thank you for your detailed analysis!

I'll list your projected Phase 2A schools that needs balloting in order:
                    Anglo-Chinese School (Primary)
                    Catholic High
                    CHIJ St. Nicholas Girls’ School
                    Chongzheng Primary
                    Fairfield Methodist
                    Fern Green Primary
                    Frontier Primary
                    Gongshang Primary
                    Holy Innocents’ Primary
                    Horizon Primary
                    Methodist Girls’ School
                    Nan Hua Primary
                    Pasir Ris Primary
                    Pei Chun Public
                    Pei Hwa Presbyterian
                    Punggol Green Primary
                    Punggol View Primary
                    Radin Mas
                    Rulang Primary
                    South View Primary
                    Tao Nan
                    Temasek Primary
                    West Spring Primary
                    Westwood Primary
                    Yu Neng Primary

Only 2 schools are not in our list of projections:
                    Fern Green Primary
                    Punggol View Primary

Fern Green Primary did suffer a -40 seat reduction in its vacancies, while Punggol View lost -30 seats.
So they might become more competitive this year.
                    We shall see... :nailbite:

                        Have to wait for Chief...

But I can also tell you it's 82 :rotflmao:

Therefore, this year, based on last night's figure, is already +20 vs last year.
