Going forward,
I am guessing that the qns will be identical, in order for it to be a “fair test” (in scientific terms).
If the school has prepared a set of alternative qns for makeup purposes, then they wont need to tell the kids not to disclose.[/quote]
for parents whose P6 kids have already sat for the Academic subject test, is better to keep quiet,
because
if that particular Secondary school really want to trace all the way down to those parents who have leaked out test info, one way or another, they can easily do so, if the school wants to. End up, will it cause a penalty consequences to your own P6 child, not to receive any CO or Wait-list offered by the DSA school, this is a question mark ? -

There's no way the school would administer 2 sittings of the same test because the integrity of the test would be compromised. Online forums are just one platform. There is nothing to stop parents from sharing test info in person with their own friends or via WhatsApp etc. Eg. last year when one of the olympiads had tech issues, the sch had to organise an alternate sitting for the test. Test questions were completely different and they had to make the contest results unofficial because as we all know, olympiads are high stakes and affect the outcome of DSA. Same goes for DSA selection test.

Besides teaching the kid about confidentiality in tests and in future - their workplace, it is not difficult to understand why the teacher asked the students not to share the questions.
It doesn’t matter whether the questions are exactly the same, or similar in nature but different. The point is - just like how this first batch of students didn’t get any prior info about the test, the next batch of students coming for any make up test (or candidates in subsequent years’ batches) should also not know what to expect, in order to ensure fairness. This also teaches our kids to learn how to handle new situations / tests on the spot. Don’t forget the purpose of the selection tests is to find candidates who are “beyond the abilities of children in their age group”, and not to find candidates who are better trained to handle the type of questions of these selection tests. If the dsa selection questionnaire did not achieve the objective of selecting the “real talents beyond their age group”, then the selection committee will just need to set tougher questions the next time round. It is a lose-lose situation for both parents and educators.

Yes, fully agree with lassie girl. Because
once Academic test content questions have been leaked out,
those testers who set qns, will have to set tougher qns, next time round.
End up, future subsequent batches of P6 DSA short-listed students will face tougher DSA test qns.
Example
Last time,
I had no idea, no clue as to what English (RI) domain DSA test, is all about. In my mind, I was thinking about reading up all the good essays that one can possibly find, of "competition" standard. It didn’t occur to me, to start considering from the angle of … poetry written.
But today, I know.
Focus on analysis of poems written. That is good enough, a direction to set me towards to concentrate upon. One might counter-argue :-
Oh come on, you won’t know which poem, RI is going to come out, to test your child on that day. Never mind, because I can easily hire a professional English ( language or Literature) home tutor, to prepare and start teaching my P6 ( son or daughter ) , all the skill set necessary required in poem analysis -
Has anyone heard from NYGH and RGS leadership?

Yes, I also feel the same way.

If RI academic tests are conducted on the same, identical date,
eg :
one in the morning and
another in the afternoon session, but on the same date,
maybe RI may use back the same identical set of questions.
But,
once it crosses into another different date,
then RI should change to another new, different set of qns.
Is like in GCE O-level pu-hua Oral, which span over >10 days :
from July (6 to 18) -
Every day, SEAB will set different Chinese Oral topic questions, for the Sec (3 and 4) students.
Even for Psle Chinese Oral, span over 2 days,
different day :
SEAB also set different Oral topic -

This sounds like a definition of “KiasuParents” 😄

So actually the most equitable solution is for the schs to be transparent abt the format and question type.
