      https://www.reddit.com/r/SGExams/comments/vxx271/oral_day_4_cl/

It's related to exercising (+ outdoor activities such as hiking).
      amongst the past 4 days,
this day#4 topic is the easiest, about Sports and exercise, compared to harder topics like waste food (day #2) and
      kopi shop (day #3).

      looks like they alternate :-
one day hard, next day easy topic.

I beg to differ. It would depend on the individuals if they deem the topic challenging or not. Take today’s oral topic - exercise for example. No doubt it is an easy topic but what can one elaborate on or what proverbs or idioms to throw in for exercise oral topic ?

My child was saying easy topic may not score marks as teacher may not be impressed with the answer. So to make the teacher go WOW, the pupil must stand out in her own response answer.

All Sec 3 would have gone through OBS and it is a kind of exercise and outdoor learning experience which is a relevant example to the topic.

          Reddit about Day 4 Oral

Yup. The \"easier\" the topic, the \"higher\" the expectation. Similarly, if the topic is \"difficult\" (i.e. less discussed/involves more technical terms etc.), the examiner's expectations will alter accordingly. This is to ensure as much \"fairness\" as possible.

E.g. for today's (Day 5) topic on Reading, I would be hoping to hear phrases such as “书中自有黃金屋”、“读破万卷书,下笔如有神” and examples of the different book genres being mentioned in the conversation.

Personally I would prefer an easier topic, so I can have a better conversation on it. Even with higher expectations, I’ll be fine if I had said everything that I could and to the best of my ability. So glad, my friend’s son is done with oral now. Fingers crossed for excellent results! All the best to those who are still waiting to take their oral!

I also agree, because if is an easy topic, at least got something to talk about, to munch on, even though on the spot can't find the correct chengyu or proverbs to describe aptly.

                  In contrast,
if is hard, difficult topic, worse!
The mind can go blank, shocked, don't know what to say at all.

Anyway, this Oral thing is really luck. Whether on that day, u are assigned easy or hard topic, is beyond our control
