Sometimes Single Parent?

Given my house's ceiling, even on a ladder tip-toe, I also cannot change the bulb. I have to \"jagga\" even when my dh changes it cos it's high and dangerous. One tip off-balance will land crashing to the ground, no joke.
I like high ceiling so I don't think I can ever change the bulbs on my own even if I want to.
As for the cockroaches, I detest them so bad that I would smack them to death.....so no need to wait for DH....too late by the time he comes running. -

I know i have a long journey ahead which is why i'm freaking out. He does not do housework also. We've lived together for 4 years, he did not even wash the toilets ONCE. Of cos i do not mind taking care of my son, but it is very tiring because my son was extremely colicky, cried and cried, until my husband shouted back at him for crying so much. I cannot afford a helper. I do housework whenever i'm awake and have the energy...like when my son wakes up for milk at 3am. I'll be doing laundry or whatever at 4am. He knows he has to do his fair share but it is difficult because he was brought up where his mother did everything. My son was staring at me washing dishes one day while my MIL carried him and i was telling my son, next time grow up must learn how to do household chores also hor. My MIL quickly and loudly say, \"Aiyah, boys no need to do anything, just study hard and earn money\". It's no wonder my husband ended up like this. I've already trained my husband to wash his own underwear....and throw dirty laundry INTO the basket, not next to it. His lack of support and my MIL, are the reasons why i will not have #2! Amen....
Yr ds is only 4 mths, you've a long, long journey ahead of you, butterw. Consider getting a helper and if your dh dislike baby chores, get him to do housework instead. He has to do his fair share, right?
Though I was also a ftwm when dd was born, I gladly bathed, changed and enjoyed all the baby chores when I got back from work, to the extent of not allowing dh or the helper to do. I saw that as a way of bonding. The only chore I hated was mealtimes when she was a toddler, and that quickly became the helper's chore. -

I'm quite good at catching roaches and killing them... not really afraid of them though...
:udawoman:
I super scare of those cockroaches which can fly....
:slapshead:
They fly.. I jump...

I should clarify - don't need MY MAN for that and not no man.
I can do all that myself - don't need no man for that. :celebrate:mathsparks:
And I also need the man around for changing lightbulbs (my legs wobble when I climb ladders), fixing a leaking tap and choked basins.
BUT man and cockroach (bats too I guess) must come together.
For lightbulb, I call maintenance.
For computer, I call my BIL.
For plumbing and aircon, I call the pro.
For cockroaches, who do I call?????
Tree nympth and ksi - kowtow to you two ladies for showing the cockroach whose the Master! :udawoman: -

Why don't you say I stay shophouse??? kekeke  -
Ok, seriously, my man is redundant.
Change lightbulb I can do myself
Computers, well no problems, Setting up networks, basic troubleshooting and reloading of OS no big deal. Any issues bigger then that, DH oso cannot help.
Fix leaky tap, same thing or else there is always the plumber
aircon call the air con pple as well
cockcroach, scream for my maid. Ummm... DH does that too cos he too detests cockcroaches.
The rest, lizards, bats, rats, etc, don't bother me much.
One of my main criteria for selecting a maid, MUST NOT BE AFRAID OF COCKCROACHES.
I am super duper paranoid about cockcroaches. I will not go near even dead ones. I once emptied an entire can of baygone on 1 cockcroach. Think it did not have a chance to die from the chemical reaction cos it drowned in it. Then I closed the door and left it there until my mum came home and I told her to help me dispose of it, was in my teens then. There after, I spend the next 1/2hr mopping the floor to get rid of the insecticide.
Incidentally, I am a single parent this week. Hate to say this but I am enjoying having the bed all to myself.

they are but just a small insect. just roll up some newspaper, aim and hit. as simple as that. if i see it crawling on the floor, and i don't wanna dirty my hand, i will use some toilet paper and crush it, then using the same toilet paper, pick it up and throw inside the toilet bowl.
not scared not scared hor...
