Hi, can i just ask like what are nyjc strong subjects that the students have done very well? eg. like maths, physics chemistry, etc...
I heard that it is Maths

NYJC is known to start school at 8am or 8.30am (can’t recall which time). They offer
      Alternate Friday HBL
      Study areas in the college
      Resource packages
      One-to-one consultation
      Recorded lectures for revision
Night Study Programme for JC1 starts in Term 3  Full time School Counsellor

My DD graduated last year and did well for her A Levels.

But like any other schools or JCs, there are very good and not so good teachers.

But overall, the JC has done very well overall.
On 28/5, Ny College Day, was shared by Principal that 6/10 scored 85 RP and abv.

watch out for the JAE Cut off point, for the

                    O-level batches (2022 and 2023), born 2006 and 2007.
These two batches are very competitive, especially those piggies born in 2007.

                    won’t be surprised,
if the L1R5 Cut-off-point (admission) were to drop to 5 (nett) Cut-off.

                      I am a parent of JC1.

Can i check for the JC2 during the start of June holiday, were they asked to go back for Supplementary class etc?

For a sensing, is it common for child to fail or borderline certain subjects, like math for JC1?

                        Hi,

Just saw yr post. I m a J1 parent too at NY.
It came to me as a shock as well that the test and exam standards for NY are just so high.

I read some posts from another platform and checked with my friends. Seems like it's quite common to fail some subjects in JC1 (n esp in NY). They usually will pick up in J2 and I hope so. Positive encouragement is important to push them on. Cheers..
