If it's email to the school, the school would reply via email to confirm the withdrawal. If no reply, can always call the school to check and to expedite reply.
      ok thanks

Will see if it holds or if there is a day 3 surge, but the odds for some of the schools with 40 seats are, relatively speaking, good value/risk-reward.

What are the chances for CHIJ Toa Payoh for someone living within 1km to get in? Do you think there will be a ballot for those living within 1km?

Currently it’s 82 applicants for 54 vacancies. Last year for phase 2C it was 49 applicants for 35 vacancies.

            WHAT?
Move off from hot schools and let others have all the fun?
No way. This is Singapore. When others queue, I also follow. Never mind that I have no idea what others are queuing for.
The website says it all..Kiasu Parents. Love it hahaha.

Will definitely ballot within 1km. Given that MCS is a viable backup, I think many applicants are happy to give it a go. I don’t think there are a lot of doubts there.

Thanks. Is that because MCS has lots of vacancies and if you miss out on CHIJ now, you can probably get into MCS in 2CS if you are living within 1km?

Most years, if you are SC < 2km, you are a shoo-in for MCS in Phase 2CS (and applicants who are < 1km from CHIJ TP are also very likely to be < 2km from MCS). As such, given that the risks and opportunity cost of missing out on the ballot in CHIJ TP are very low, it’s a straightforward decision.

IJTP will ballot under 1km at 2C. Not very surprising, it has always gone to ballot under 1km at 2C.

Last year was 57 applicants for 44 vacancies. I think you posted 2020 registration numbers.

Given most 2B failed folks also fall inside <1km category, they will most probably try again. While there may be instance that more than 1km folks apply, I think it will still be more applicants within 1km than the vacancies. Chances should be relative ok, rough 1.5X.

Thanks Lexy. For 2B this year there were 40 applicants for 27 vacancies.
