Related to seniors as I dont know where to park this info:

Anybody has been buying groceries for seniors at NTUC?
Now you need to produce a Seniors Discount Card and his/her PG or MG card.

Complete the below form and attach relevant documents to show the senior has limited mobility:
      https://help.fairprice.com.sg/hc/en-us/articles/360021708812-Seniors-Discount-Card-Form
      Gosh, so troublesome?

Today DH and I went grocery shopping at Sheng Shiong while MIL was still sleeping in. Thought just forgo the seniors discount since she couldnt meet our timing.

But who knows, Cashier told him the elderly doesnt need to be present at all. Next time we just bring her MG card and show to cashier can already. Wish we had known earlier.

SS prices already very cheap. With ~$5-6 off our $100+ bill, it is quite big savings.

Actually that shld be the way ie just bring the PG or MG card would do. But NTUC insists on SDC ie Seniors Discount Card on top of the PG or MG card šŸ˜ž

Yes I have encountered this before too. FairPrice is very strict and insist that we fill up a form and bring the card along if the senior is not able to come along. SS is much nicer and shows more empathy.

            Update on SDC:

The card arrived. The accompanied letter states that one needs to bring this card, dad's NRIC, his PG card and my NRIC at payment in NTUC supermarket.
            I am \"impressed\" ...

Dementia is a terrible thing, but sometimes forgetfulness can be advantageous. Forget both good and bad. Kind of like reaching nirvana.

Sad thing about dementia is remembering the past but forgetting the present.

I just guess forgetting our loved ones may make us unable to find the purpose of living. It is sad.

Worse is remembering only the bad memories from the past and forgot the good ones. And forgetting all the present new memories. Darn. How to change that!
