My kid always lose many marks in CL P2 mcq, easily 10 marks at least. May I know how to improve this area before PSLE? Many thanks in advance for sharing!

HCL
- （情境）这件事让我明白做事不应该半途而废

- （完成）考试时我正苦恼，突然有人想我抛来一张纸

CL
-（看图）姐姐带弟弟去小贩中心用餐，一位阿姨站了起来，姐姐和她相撞，姐姐的手被烫伤
-（看图）哥哥带弟弟去买食物，路上碰到他的朋友、和朋一起友踢足球，弟弟跟一只小猫玩，后来哥哥发现弟弟不见了

carelessness in PSLE Maths calculation under stress exam condition, can cause students to miss by one band


Eg.

If a kid is hovering at the boundary (or at the border), careless mistakes made
Eg.

86 marks (AL 2) for Maths,
can slip into
84 marks (become AL3)

Or

80 marks (AL 3) can slip into
78 marks (become AL 4), etc

For PSLE Science,
the carelessness can come via answering the Multiple Choice Section questions.

Eg.

If a kid did not read the MCQ thoroughly, carefully in detail, sometimes, can be "tricked" subtedly.

Under AL system,
for every single subject,
once a kid is careless,
an expected Total AL4, for the 4 subjects, may turn into an un-expected AL 8, overall.

Under AL system,
for every single subject,
once a kid is careless,
an expected Total AL4, for the 4 subjects, may turn into an un-expected AL 8, overall.

Yup, for CL, I feel that MCQ's importance is being overlooked by some parents/students - often hear some commenting on how their children are \"weak\" in compo or compre etc., but Paper 2 Booklet A and B MCQ are worth 64 out of 90 marks and for MCQ, it's 0 or 2 marks. Besides, for majority of these 64 marks, they can be prepared for via mugging of syllabus words/phrases (which will no longer be the case for Sec CL/HCL's major exams). Imagine 辛辛苦苦 score well for compre/compo but then lose marks in MCQ due to carelessness or lack of preparation...
