:salute: good for your kid. Lesson learnt here: if cannot get in through DSA, just try harder for PSLE. You will get in eventually...
Last year, we receive rejection letter on 21Sep, but last year’s interviews were all online due to Covid, this year’s schedule may be different, all the best to your son!
Kid still got in eventually through AL score and he’s having a great time, so even if DSA falls through, still study hard for PSLE! All the best, best wishes and JiaYou 🙌🏻 -

Great motivation to try hard for PSLE, even if DSA didn’t work! In many ways that is the ideal path. Curious to know which DSA was he trying for and which stream?

Hopefully, some kind souls whose kids are already in acsi can help w my questions -
1) year 5 admissions are only for affiliated schools or free for all to apply? Are there affiliation points?
2) are ccas, be it UG, sports or other aesthetics conducted on a a certain day? Eg in our primary school, the ccas are conducted on mostly Wednesdays
Thank you all! Appreciate it! -
Year 5 is available to all schools on equal basis, no affiliation points. However, some places are reserved for ACS(I) IP and MGS IP students. CCAs are conducted on different days depending on CCA.

I vividly recall that the ACS boy was left hanging in the mid-air for a very long time!!
Teenager (ACSI)
https://stomp.straitstimes.com/singapore-seen/acsi-teen-who-died-at-safra-yishun-facilitator-22-failed-to-ensure-safety-harness-was
I was thinking back then why did the ambulance arrive so late and while waiting why no one lowered the boy down. So was the 22yr Malay boy (who didn’t fasten his safety harness properly) the only one at fault? It is not even clear how the poorly fastened safety harness contributed to the poor boy’s death. -
This incident cld hv happened at any other similar activities at any other schools. It just happened at an activity conducted for this arc sch, ACSI.
The activity was facilitated by a young, 22-yo chap. Might be his temp, part-time job or even his 1st job. My qn wld be - why is the outdoor event company not taken to task? A life is lost, the bz shld be held accountable for stringent training & provide contingent & emergency recovery for such accidents.
The activity was resumed after covid CB/lockdown & I suspect there was negligence in checking how well the equipment is working after 2 years of disuse or was it even maintained & whether they did a dry run. I hv no way to comment, just asking some questions that concerns me as this young victim was DS’ peer. They see each other daily back then & it was heartbreaking when we had to meet his parents at his wake.
It was reported :
He was strangled and also suffered from traumatic asphyxia, where external compression to his upper torso restricted his breathing, causing him to die of multiple organ failure.
He slipped, shoe buckle came off. Typically, the harness prevent the participant fr falling off, but he was hung for an hour or so, but it’s causing compression to his upper body & breathing gets tight. Poor chap, he was left there hanging in fear & panic that traumatize his entire body.
It seems he only loss consciousness when he was let down & paramedics did tried to resuscitate him. At the point of being brought down, I can imagine his mixed feelings all surged within him - glad to hv finally let down but that relieved might hv also being a sudden let go of all his muscles & blood surged.
My heart goes with both his parents. -

Way BEFORE \"ACSI\", like a new baby was even borne -
ACSI and SJI never offered the A levels before.
When given a chance to offer the IP programme, ACSI and SJI smartly volunteered for the IB.
through ACS creative, innovative, ingenious, vibrant \"branding, sales and marketing gimmick pitched at \",
wasn't Anglo Chinese Junior College been in existence, for many several past decade(s) already ?
Then ?
How did their Anglo-Chinese Junior College students perform at A-level,
in comparison to their strong academic opponents, counterparts from (RI and Hwa Chong) ?
ACJC paled in comparison, in their A-level results ?
Let's go back, to history.
In which year, was ACJC borne ?
Answer -
In that year, 1977.
ACJC became operational, functional on 3 January, 1977
Today, is year 2022.
So, how many years have gone by ?
2022 minus 1977, equal to
45 years, have flown by !
Read on,
the story or
the history behind, how Anglo Chinese Junior College, was formed :-
https://acjc.moe.edu.sg/about-us/the-story-of-acjc
Hence,
decided to give birth to a new baby,
and
\" manufactured ACSI \",
introduced another brand new product into the market called the \"IB\" curriculum,
so as to rival and compete head-on with RI, from a different angle (perspective) afresh ?
