I believe all (SC) AL5s received it.
Thanks. Did you happen to hear of any children that didn't get ESIS despite getting AL5? Just wondering how hard it is to get this.
I think last year it was one piece of data people were watching as it pertained to RI/RGS COP. However, given the lack of info on exactly how many people received it (relative to say ESIS = 261) it was hard to draw any firm conclusions (in addition to the other noise from exam strategies, choice preferences, and cohort performance). Nevertheless, in the end not much changed relative to the indicative COPs. -

Not to worry. If missed out this round, there’s always another chance. Student can apply and go for a written test towards end of Y2 or beginning of Y3 (can’t remb exact timeline) Results will be released somewhere mid of Y3. If student passes, a letter of offer will be emailed to you. Fees paid for the 1st half year will be reimbursed back to student’s edusave account.

RGS Never fix this type of quota per domain, please !
Any idea how many students got CO for RGS for each individual domain?
Also, can someone explain how WL works? Thx
Why ?
Ask yourself -
How to fix,
when EVERY year,
the quality of the DSA candidates differ, batch by batch! -

2022 PSLE coming up in 3 weeks' time, from today. END of Sept coming fast ! Go, get your daughter to focus and do well.
I shared the bad news to my DD, asking her to read the email on her own. Want her to confrant all these and take some time to settle her feelings during this school hols time so that she can go back on track for her revision though not giving up hope on other schools results.
Congrats again to all parents/ children with successful CO/WL and best wishes to all in PSLE. Final lap already. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
After that, she can enter her dream Secondary school she wants. -

I told my DS of his COs (and the no-love from VS) once I got the results. I agree that it's impossible to hide since the kids talk about it in school. I had hoped that it would help reduce the pressure and allow him to breathe a bit more but I think it went a bit too far. I can see that he's taking things a bit too lightly now, much to my annoyance. So, have to keep nudging/barking at him to remain focused and driven. Unfortunately, my DS is like me - easily complacent
Anyone has not inform their kids the successful CO ? I am in the dilemma if i should let him know now or after the school holiday as he is in full force with the exam preparation now. hiding the news was not in my plan actually
Frankly, I think the DSA system could improve in this respect. I'm not sure why DSA results can't be announced after PSLE. They could do it the day after the last paper, i.e. on 6 Oct this year. This way, the students will all be entering the exams on equal footing, and each trying their very best to do well. None should have the advantage of knowing that their path to their secondary school of choice is (more or less) secured. It helps to ensure consistency across the board.
Yes yes, I know what some may say - if your child is diligent, they will be diligent regardless of the DSA results. However, I live in the real world where 12 year old children are not still naïve and sometimes, lack the focus and maturity to appreciate the value of hard work (more so with boys, perhaps).
So, while I breathe a sigh of relief that my DS has COs under his belt, I can't help but wonder if us not knowing about this until later would have ensured that he remained as determined as he was prior to the DSA results. -
I agree with you. Since the selection of dsa schools is done after the p s l e. I don’t know understand why it has to be announced before the p s l e.
Although one reason could be that the schools’ staff and coaches are unable to contain themselves and leak out the results to select students. Which is a even worse outcome than announcing it before p s l e. -
I think the one of the intended aims of DSA is to ease the pressure off the PSLE for those that secure a spot based on a talent the school values. Hence the timing.
As for telling the child result of CO? My child felt that knowing CO made for complacency in PSLE. Totally lost interest and enjoyed the ride too much. DC ignored the warning that classes are streamed in S1 based on PSLE results.
DC actually really regretted slacking off to that extent. Ultimately felt the stigma of disappointing results especially when was expected to do well. Interestingly, DC felt the streaming affected types of ppl and friends made over next two years. In some ways it drove DC determination to work harder in early sec years. Like trying to get the monkey off the back
So this time, on the advice of DC1, we learnt lesson. Didn’t share results of first school. But for some schools you need to go and personally collect. So had to share second school. DC2 just told friends when asked about results of dsa, that parents are not sharing results till after PSLE. -

That shouldn't be too difficult to fix. If staff and others are overly eager to share such information, then the school can take appropriate action against them. Not suggesting that DSA results are akin to official state secrets but clearly, those involved can be reminded to exercise proper discretion.

You raised a very good point that the schools do stream S1 based on PSLE results. Not sure if they all do but I'll definitely remind my DS that the PSLE results are still crucial for this purpose. Thank you
