She has been consistently scoring AL1 in English, Vice head prefect in her school, participated and won in story telling and story writing competitions and some MATH Olympiads
Congrats! May I know what is your girl's profile? -
Crescent & NHHS rejected my girl.
Think AL 16 wasn’t good enough to be selected. Hopefully her PSLE score will be AL 13-15 -

Yes, this is what I know / understand D so far. But have to follow the DSA offer for S1 posting, even result meet IP /IB track, still have to follow DSA offer. It is clarify by school for dual track.
There will be another admission exercise into Y3. It is open to all Y2 students in 2024 (referring to the current year PSLE students) with the following criteria:
Outstanding academic performance in Y1 and 2 school examinations; and Excellent achievement in academic and co-curricular activities. Shortlisted applicants must sit for Admission Tests administered by the school you are applying to. Some schools include an interview as well. -

What was last year 2021 P6 PSLE batch (born 2009) official Cut off point, for Dunman High ?
Last hope is DHS now 😅
Is there any hope for AL 11 for DSA selection? LOL pls spill the truth
is it AL 8 (Distinction) ?
Since your kid's primary school exam score is AL 11,
that is,
3 points away from AL 8.
3 points is not far away.
Being an IP school,
Dunman High will still consider giving out CO. Yes, still got hope !
But,
if is 5 points or more away from the Cut off point, probably DHS may offer Wait-list, instead of offer CO.
No matter how strong, how good your child's talent is -
at the end of the day,
because
Dunman High happen to be an IP school, they will still look at your P5 / P6 school results, make sure that your kid can cope with IP rigor,
before start to offer any CO or Wait-list, to suitable candidates. That is, on condition that your child have the talent that DHS is really looking out for, first. -

Ah ! This is something, which i don't quite understand.
In principle, no doubt, the school offered the child CO, for O-level track in the end, because during the very thorough DSA (tests + interview) conducted, the school management overall feel that the child is better off, studying O-level instead of IB.
However, if the child's actual PSLE results released proved that she does qualify for IB or A-level IP track after all, why must the child be denied or deprived the chance of starting IB or IP from Sec 1, for next 2 years ? Why must wait until end of Sec 2, then come and consider let her be transfered, into IP track ?
The fact that, her actual PSLE results qualify her for IP, means what?
Means that the DSA school management has made a mistake, in offering her a CO for the O-level track, instead of offering her a CO for the IB track ?
The DSA school has under-estimated this child's academic ability, in PSLE performance ?
Come on, this is not fair !
If this kid had never accepted the DSA O level track CO, based on PSLE results, she already qualify for IP (be it IB or A-level), and would have entered straight into IB ! So, why waste 2 precious years of her Lower Secondary years life, doing O level curriculum ?
I mean,
if the kid's PSLE results don't qualify for IP, then case closed, we all have nothing to say anymore. Don't qualify means, don't qualify, right ? There is nothing to argue over.
But, in contrast,
if the kid's actual Psle results released does qualify her for IP, why waste time, doing O level for Sec (1 and 2) ? -
On IP vs O Level track (CO or WL), one reason may be that the school doesn’t have any spaces left to offer for IP? I believe IP is supposed to limit DSA intake to about 30%-35% and O Level is limited to 20%.
For those that can switch CO to IP if PSLE results are strong, it may also be dependent on other IP COs being given up. Ie the school needs space to admit more students into IP via DSA. Unfortunately, it is probably not possible for the school (any school) to switch all of its O Level COs to IP COs just because all of the O Level COs obtained PSLE results that would have qualified for IP.
Remember, the CO works both ways (if accepted); the school will give you a spot even if you don’t hit the S1 COP and the student is committed to the school even if he/she has PSLE results that would have qualified for something else (either a different track in the same school or another school).
