AL23 with CO will enter NA stream in ACS Br. They have piloted FSBB already, so he will be allowed to take EMS/MT at Express level, provided he scored AL5 or better for the particular subject. All the other subjects will be at NA level.
If PSLE score is 22 and below, SJI.
If PSLE score is 23+, I think neither but I'll let the more experienced folks weigh in. -

Got it. So, at an AL score of 23, the student will miss out on the SJI CO but will still be able to enter ACSB via NA. I forgot that the ACSB CO was listed as Express/NA. If so, then the student should still get into ACSB though for the NA course, not Express.

Yup. Forummer WING_28 has planned it very well. Kudos and congrats!

The question then become,
\"Do u still want to accept the NA course, in ACS Barker Sec ? \" -

Just to share, 2024 sec 1 batch onwards, no more streaming for E, NA or NT -

This is definitely true for class composition once Sec 1 starts. However, for posting purposes I believe there will still be a set number of spaces for (essentially) each of E, NA, NT (or the corresponding Total AL Scores)?

I.e. if a school currently has an Express COP of AL10 and NA/NT courses as well, it is not like the intake will only be those with AL10 (or AL11-AL12), there will still be a mix of students from all three \"courses\" (or scoring levels). -
Hi how will the sports DSA be trained at TJC.Anyone have information of the balance between sports and academics

For NA streamed students in ACS Barker Secondary who have scored AL 23+,

now that there is no more Sec 5 allowed (been abolished),
can Sec 1 stream NA students take these three subjects (English, Maths, Science) at Express O-level,
but
take (Chinese Mother tongue, Literature / History / Geog, Design & Technology ) at the NA level ? -

I have 1 DS in MS and another in GEP. Without a doubt, GEP tests and exams are much more difficult. The demands are different too - e.g. for EL comprehension, MS students are allowed to lift answers from the passage while GE kids are expected to paraphrase to demonstrate understanding. It is hard to say what 70 marks in a GEP exam translates to in a MS paper, and honestly I don't think it matters that much. Ultimately if the kid is coping fine in GEP, but has a very impressive portfolio in his/her chosen DSA domain, a shortfall in school grades should not matter that much. But I stress that the portfolio has to be really strong.
Apologies for asking as my DS is not in the GEP. Why would a score for a GEP subject be different (higher or lower) vs. the non-GEP subject. I always thought that GEP was just a different way of learning so the exams are crafted differently to assess the student. Are the papers more difficult (unlikely, that they are easier) such that a lower score for a GEP subject would mean a better score for the same non-GEP subject? -

NA students by default will take subjects at NA level (the textbooks and curriculum) from Sec 1 onwards.

now that there is no more Sec 5 allowed (been abolished),
can Sec 1 stream NA students take these three subjects (English, Maths, Science) at Express O-level,

But if they scored AL5 or better during PSLE for the 4 PSLE subjects, then they can take that particular subject at Express level in Sec 1 (buy Express textbook accordingly).
Other subjects by default will be NA level if streamed into NA stream.
Note the 2023 Sec 1 batch is still technically able to take O levels in Sec 5. Final batch.
