Whats your child’s deciding factor in choosing Economics vs another Humanities Lit/Hist/Geo? Vice versa? Other than passion/interest. Please share.
My kid doing Lit (His other Humanities grades pretty much the same in Yr 2). Pretty decent grades but not fantastic (that for sure Lit is a confirmed choice). Can’t say if he has a natural flair or real interest either.
How big is Yr 5-6 Lit group? Whats the ratio between boys and girls? What characteristics (other than passionate/talented) will be good to have? -
He’s alright with year 1-2 Lit but is wondering how much more in-depth is H2 Lit . Yes will ask him to speak with his seniors who did H2 Lit. Thanks !

For Year 5, my son is thinking of taking 2 science subjects and 1 Maths. He’s deciding between Economics or History. He’s interested in History but worried about the content load of History. He heard his friends said Economics is “lighter” but this is a new subject which he hasn’t touched before. Any advice from parents in relation to these 2 subjects pls? Thanks.

My daughter was in RI about 5 yrs ago, and did PCME. I don't think she seriously considered History, not because of the content load so much as not much interest. Econs is not exactly content-light either, but not as much historical fact to remember. However, there is quite a lot of economic theory etc, and also requires some mathematical ability. The 2 subjects require different ways of thinking.

My suggestion is that your son ask some seniors who have taken these 2 subjects, maybe ask to look as some of the course materials, and which History topics are in the A level syllabus. That could help him decide. -
Daughter has been offered to do H3 Bio in Yr 6. Anyone has any advice on the difficulty?
