Manageable. No special feeling. How did the SC students feel about them?
I think A Math, and English. -
Upper Secondary
Chinese Literature, in St Nick
========================
This year (2022), Secondary 3 students -
St Nick still offered Elective CHINESE Literature, as a half subject. "Half" only, because it goes along with Social Studies (another component).
In Term 4 EOY (Sec 3) this year,
the exam date for
subject Chinese Literature (Elective), was held when ?
It was held on …
Friday (7 October 2022).
============================
What happened last year (2021),
during the end of Secondary 2 October / November month "streaming exercise",
during the process of posting (slotting) students, into their new Sec 3 (or Year 3) subject combination ?
What is Pure Chinese Literature, all about ?
Eg.
Refer to your "wen yan wen"
In fact,
there were some students interested in taking up FULL Humanities (Chinese Literature), last year.
However,
less than X number of students, are keen.
So, school said since so few students are interested, cannot form a class for them.
In the end, let these few keen students proceed
to take up and offered Chinese Literature
as an "ELECTIVE (Chinese Literature)", instead.
To open up a subject class, u need to have a minimum certain number of interested students, first.
Above info,
will come in handy (useful),
for current 2022 end of Sec 2 students (born in that past year 2008),
who will be choosing their next year 2023 new Sec 3 subject combination, now.

Upper Secondary
English Literature, in St Nick
=======================
In contrast,
English Literature was highly popular ! English Lit was very much sought after !
Part of the reason was
because
many, many St Nicks girls opted for Sec 3 " Double Science " subject combination. "Double Science" is highly popular and greatly favored upon, by students here !
In our school,
Double Humanities is also highly favored upon.
Hence, this Sec 3 subject combination comprising
1) Double Science
2) Double Maths
3) Double Humanities -
Is a hot spot favorite combination, in demand, by our end of Sec 2 students.
Our school, St Nick, has got very good Teachers teaching subject English Lit !
Last year (2021),
Sec 3 students born in the year 2006,
became the Pioneer batch
because
St Nick had changed the novel title in 2021 (Sec 3), to another brand new titled novel text (for English Lit). Every (3 to 5 years) time period, our school will change the Literature textbook(s). -
An alert message !
All 2022 end of Sec 2 students going for or those who are targeting for "Double Science"
Sec 3 subject combination, be careful !
You have already submitted your few choices of Sec 3 subject combination you desire to pursue, and school will process your requests submitted, in due course.
Make sure
that you choose your two Science subjects correctly (wisely),
regardless of whether u are from the (IP or O level track),
if you have decided to stick to your Upper Sec "Double Science" combination.
Why ?
Because
1) time & tide, wait for no man.
When u go up to Junior College level in Year 5, there is NO "Bridging" Science program, whatsoever.
Take note.
All JCs in Singapore, do NOT offer any "Bridging" Science program, including Eunoia Junior College.
Painful Reality bites (example)
=========================
Learn a lesson, from these impacted students.
In the past years’ batch(es),
from the IP track,
there have been some students,
by the time they reached the end of their Year 4 (IP), they regretted having chosen Physics.
They did work hard in Physics.
Is not that they never studied Physics at all. They did. But, somehow they din do well, inspite of their effort put in. These affected students wished that if only they could turn the clock backwards, they would have opted for Biology, instead of Physics. -

So you are suggesting for IP students, they should take triple science?

FYI
So you are suggesting for IP students, they should take triple science?
The IP students know themselves best ! They are their own best judge.
By the time they reach end of their IP (Year 2), at age 14, they have a mind of their own. They are no longer P6 kiddos. Yes, no doubt parents can talk to them. But, they themselves also know
whether
they can
or they cannot
cope with the demand(s) of \"Triple\" Science.
Amongst the IP classes -
some end of IP (Year 2) students still prefered to choose \"Double\" Science,
instead of
choosing \"Triple\" Science,
even though their end of IP Year 2 results, did qualify for \"Triple\" Science. They prefered \"Double\" Science selection
because
of better time management.
More time available on hand, to focus (concentrate) studying just two Pure Science subjects, instead of three so many.
In any case, they also understand that when they move onto Year 5 ( in Eunoia JC ), maximum allowed is only two A-level H2 Pure Science subjects, due to the \"contrasting\" subject requirement, imposed upon Junior College students by MOE.
It is their own, eventual self-made decision preferance choice. -

I assume there are more students choosing double science. St Nick has 5 IP classes right? 2 are triple science classes?
