When will the school ask the students to apply for SMTP programme? Is it in JC1 or after the Sec 4 EOY in NYG/HCI? For parents with kids in the HCI college SMTP programme, are there activities held during the June or Dec school holidays? Thanks in advance!

The IP kids will be notified when to apply, after their EOYs. They apply in Sec 4.
The SMTP only starts after the JAE students join the College. -
Seems like the JC SMTP has more requirements now? I think previously was only MSG < 2.0 and selection test. Now, A1s for all Science and B3 or better for English.

For SMTP, MSG must be <1.5 and need to sit for a written paper to qualify except for last year. I suspect there is additional screening for HCL grade (school not actual) as well. The school also reserves quite a fair amount of places to JAE students to ensure equal opportunity for everyone!

Any child has taken the H3 Econs - Game Theory offered by SMU? I understand that the exam for this H3 is in April instead of in Dec. Commitment seems to be once a week at SMU. Can I also check if this H3 subj be recognised by overseas Unis since this is not offered by Cambridge? Thanks. -

According to MOE’s announcement, JC1 students academic year only starts on 3 Feb 2023. I am wondering for the IP students, will they be required to go to school in Jan? If so, is it for the whole month of Jan?
Appreciate any experienced parents’ advice. -

At the parent's briefing last weekend, we were told that C1 students will return on 16 Jan. I think the MOE announcement applies to C2 students.

Yes IP students start earlier from Jan 16. JAE joins on 3 Feb onwards after O level results.
