There's 8 classes of Express and 5 classes of IP in Sec 1 for my son's year (he just finished Sec 2), although this may vary by year. Usually 30+ per class. All normal core subjects taught e.g. languages, math, sciences, etc are examinable. Non-core like arts and music are also graded, but no final year exams. Elective programs like music, regional studies, are examinable as well.

Hi Everyone. Can I find out how many classes are there for the O level track? Are there 40 students in a class or less since this is an independent school? My advanced thanks for your replies.
In addition what are the examinable subjects taught at Sec 1. I heard that this varies for non core subjects.

I didnt come across any subjects/courses that are exactly what you mentioned, but there are similar topics covered in the many out-of-classrooms and enrichment programs that cover aspects of design and technology. There is also an annual IDEX competition that students can participate in, as well as others such as Pathfinders programs. You can find out more such programs at ACSI website, under talent development. There's also a huge range of CCA that caters to many interests, and some of them could be relevant to the below, e.g. in the robotics / computer tech clubs.

Hope someone can help w this question :

I am wondering if Acsi offers the Design & Technology or the Food & Consumer Education to their O level and IB students? If not, what do the boys do in lieu?

As long as your son's O level L1R5 able to meet / can qualify for ACSI Cut off point, Yes, he can get into IB (ACSI).

            The only concern is,
once he gotten into IB, he need to adapt fast & be able to assimilate into the IB track curriculum well, because the run way is short :
only 2 more years before he embark onward, to either local / overseas (abroad) university education journey.

What was the L1R5 official Cut off point for IB (ACSI), for last year's 2021 O-level batch (born in the year 2005) ?

            5

              Assume that

an O level student had scored L1R5 (5 points).
MOE JAE posting system then posted this pupil into IB (ACSI), say, eg. IB (ACSI) happen to be this pupil’s 1st choice, right at the top of his list of choices.

              Can share,
what are some of the challenge(s),
frequently or commonly encountered by JAE (O-level) students inside this IB Curriculum track, apart from having to write lots of essays ?

So looks like the Ip program in asci is quite different from other IP schools. Were reading the art and music elective program info, and they indicated that if you do MEP, the student will not need to do the food and consumer education nor the D&T.

                  Thanks again! Appreciate it.

Hi, based on some comments from others here, I believe ACS(I) IP balloted at AL7 first choice last year. Best of luck!
