My dd has AL12 and has affiliation to CHIJ St Joseph's Convent. Like to seek advice on whether the choice of her school order is too risky? Thanks

(1) Nan Chiau (cop 12D)
(2) TKGS (cop 13)
(3) IJ SJC (cop14)
(4) PLMGS (cop 11)
(5) St Margaret's (cop 11)
(6) Holy Innocents (cop 15)

Does your daughter have HCL? If yes Nan Chiau might be possible to get in as first choice.

My gal scored AL11(M); staying Hougang around.

Does the below make sense?

1. Nan Chiau H.S. (2021, COP=12D; 2020, COP=11M)
Qn: What is the risk of balloting with AL11M?
2. Anderson S.S (2021, COP=10)
Qn: Make sense to risk it here; seems Andersoon COP is consistently at AL10?
3. Chung Cheng H.S. Main (2021, COP=11M)
4. Crescent Girls (2021, COP=11)
5. TKGS (2021, COP=13)
6. TKSS (2021, COP=14)

Thanks. As we cannot go to SAP schools, our choices at AL8 is limited.
I could choose Cedar O-, but the school is far-far away from home and doesn't make sense.
Last 2 choices are Swiss cottage (stone throw distance from home) and Bukit Panjang.
Let us hope for the best.

Any statistics about balloting (among SC?)
Also, most schools have a process for appealing. How it works out (if we get balloted out and still trying through appeal)?

I don't think there is official statistics about balloting.

Your child’s PSLE score must meet the school’s COP of the posting year to appeal. The school will consider the student's academic/awards/CCA/... and subjected to limited vacancies.

Unfortunately, she didn’t do HCL for PSLE. She’s offered to so HCL in Sec 1 as she scored AL 2 for CL. Can appeal to be put on wait-list? Thanks

First and foremost your daughter must meet the cop first and availability of vacancy then stand a chance. The 2nd and 3rd choice should be the school your daughter wants to go in case it doesn't work out with 1st choice.

Hi and congrats. I think good chance for NCHS, no one can say what the ballot risk is.

Perhaps remove Anderson; Crescent even at third choice (i.e. AL11 and assume stays at AL11) may be low already. Regardless, TKGS and TKSS should be safe. I'm not sure what else to add if you remove Anderson. Hopefully some others can help you.

So latest decision is to throw out all the IP?

I agree with CGS (but that’s my personal opinion and preference).

I think with a score of 8, without HMT, and a foreigner, there are only a limited number of IP schools within reach. At best, it’s only to put ONE such school at the first choice and then hope for the best.
