Yes, it is (in terms of COP). It is probably the top secondary school (in terms of COP) in the NE region excluding AMK (where SNGS and Anderson's Express stream have higher COP).

But that's not saying much since 'top' is subjected to different interpretations.

If we include NE region PLMGS can give a fight to Nan Chiau. My impression of Nan Chiau is SAP, emphasize and focus a lot on academic. Not too into holistic education type of school.

Hence, my comment \"'top' is subjected to different interpretations.\"

When you ask \"I believe Nan Chiau is the top secondary school in Sengkang right?\", you will need to spell out what you are looking for in the \"top\". If it's purely based on academic achievements, NCHS will likely be among the top schools, if not the top school, in the NE region excluding AMK.

As for being \"holistic\", if you are going by https://www.moe.gov.sg/education-in-sg/our-students of providing a holistic education (see below), you could say NCHS is just as \"holistic\" as PLMGS. Where the schools differ, are the areas that they may have chosen to focus on.
• We give our students a broad range of experiences and opportunities to develop the skills and values that they can use to shape a better future for all. Within school, they will also interact with fellow students and form strong friendships for life.
•

• Besides assessing their academic aptitude, we are also looking at broader ways of evaluating their abilities. These include:
Giving schools and tertiary institutions greater flexibility to set their own criteria that recognise different merits in the students that they admit.
Introducing School Graduation Certificates to reflect students’ academic as well as non-academic achievements.
Broadening co-curricular activities (CCAs) to recognise and give credit to student-initiated activities and community-based activities.
•
Arguably, being \"SAP\", therefore, going beyond the standard demands of academic Chinese, is also a form of \"holistic\" education. Each school, be it NCHS, PLMGS, or even Zhonghua and Xinmin, would probably have looked at their school's culture, history, students' background, etc and determine what best make up the school's holistic offering.

Both schools have their holistic curriculum.
But Plmgs O level results cant beat NCHS-
overall and % eligible for JCs.

PLMGS accepts affiliated students with the minimum score of AL 20. The quality of the students definitely cannot compare with Nan Chiau.

We are aware.
So if you want quality results end of Sec 4, NCHS is the choice over PL.

Hi, I know that Higher Chinese is compulsory for all Sec 1 students. Does anyone know if it is possible to drop Higher Chinese in sec 2 if the student struggles or fails the subject? Or do they have to keep taking higher Chinese until sec 3 like CCHSM?

Thanks for any info.

Any advice how many set of PE attire should we get? I notice there is also a polo tee, not sure if it is for PE as well?

The full black school shoe, must it be with laces?

Is there any parent group chat for S1 2023 parents?
