      How often,
do H3 students meet up with their local universities' Professors / JC2 subject Teachers ?

      Is it meet up discussion
      every week,
      twice per week,
      once a month,
      or once a Term ?
I may not have a lot of info as my DD decided on it last minute after consulting with her subject teacher. I actually prefer she focuses on her 4 H2. All I know right now is, she has checked and gotten the green light on what she will be researching on. Next, she said she needs to provide an outline of her research paper to the subject head in February. She will need to complete the paper in June.

          Can someone
ask Auditor General to also go check on SEAB and its processes?
          wahahahah!
          Precisely!

          doodbug,

          Next year,
your son is taking A level.
Tell all his RI subject teachers, HODs, to

          please check
          EACH and EVERY single question,

in both MCQ (Multiple Choice section) and Open ended Structured questions section,

          BEFORE
the actual A level exam paper starts (commence) -

not just for A level Chemistry one subject only, but
          across ALL papers,

          ranging from
H2 (Further Maths, Standard Maths, Physics, Biology, Economics, Computer Science, Geography, History),

          plus
all the corresponding H1 papers too.

            Is SEAB always correct?
Recently there was an error in the Chemistry A level paper…
            Exactly !

This is a very good question, to ask

Refer to the recent event that happened at 2022 A level National exam, at RI vs. Nanyang Junior College.

            NYJC stayed very alert !
Right at the very beginning, the Chemistry A level question error set by SEAB, was spotted ! All students sitting inside the exam hall, were quickly alerted.

            RI ?
            Students not alerted

I believe SEAB should have checked through the Chem A level paper twice and thrice prior the exam day!!

I worries leh as my DD1 is taking A levels next year.

When affected P6 parents asked for review, maybe the papers should be checked by 3rd party instead of ownself check ownself ?

SEAB could be blind to their own errors?
              Fully agree with you, lee

All HODs and staff of ALL the Junior Colleges, should have checked throughly every single subject A level paper ! If there is any error, ALL A level students should have been alerted,
              BEFORE

they even start holding their pen, to start writing down the answers, into their Answer booklet.

              The other thing is,
Yes, 3rd party should come in to review the papers.
If SEAB markers are blind spot to themselves, cannot see their own errors, how to review CORRECTLY ?

                Lee_yl,

It is indeed a good suggestion, to ask 3rd party to come and review SEAB marking.

But, let’s put on our thinking cap. Who can this neutral 3rd party be ?
I can’t think of any, except perhaps … Cambridge markers.
                How about you ?
Who do u think, this neutral 3rd party can be, to review SEAB marking ?

For A levels, the papers are already marked in Cambridge?

As for the P6s, I am thinking if parents are not allowed to see the papers during a review, maybe the respective school’s Maths HOD and P can be around to supervise the checking

For international students who are taking the UK A-level exam, the easier A-level papers to sit for, Yes, Cambridge will mark their papers.

But, in Singapore, SEAB will modify upon these questions to make them harder.

The Singapore A level exams are not just adapted exams based on the UK A levels. They are completely different.

Hi parents. Do most students in RI and HCI take 4 H2 subjects? Would the schools focus less on H1 level? A friend is wondering if taking 3 H2 and 1 H1 put the child in a disadvantaged position. Thank you.
