I dont think it will be so soon. Ours has a link for online registration (with a deadline). And a portal to check for class allocation that will be available 31 Dec 2022.

They probably need everyone (who is interested to take up the posting) to register first before they can allocate classes. I suppose some may not register, eg if going to international school.

Not tomorrow,

but in the last week of December,
After Christmas is over,
closer towards 1 January 2023,
then,
you will know your Sec 1 class allocation.

Should vacancies still arise,
after the S1 posting exercise is over,

inside RGS Appeal form content,
for the 3rd point from the Top,
i interpret it as ...

1) if say,
u have ever applied for DSA (RGS) before
& your DSA outcome is a rejection, after all the tests / attending interview, etc.

and
let's say
this year 2022 RGS Cut off point is 6,
same as last year,

and u happen to score AL 6, but balloted out,
then ...

no need to appeal anymore.


2) if u have never applied for DSA (RGS) before,

And

If your AL score happen to be equal to this year's RGS Cut off point,
then,

u can proceed to appeal.

I wouldn't interpret it that way (but I am not RGS). I think they are trying to ask how interested were you in RGS? I.e. put RGS first choice and tried to DSA to RGS --> very interested. I would say Question 5 must be a yes and it helps if Question 6 is a yes. But this is just my guess...

To me, once u have been rejected by RGS via DSA before, even if vacancies exist, RGS would rather take in some one else who is fresh, has never applied for DSA before, for the appeal.

Why ?

Because
School RGS already know who u are. The school has kept a record of your DSA application, in their system.

Yes, u can try.
No one is stopping u from trying. But don't be hopeful, because
the reasons why the school did not pick u for DSA, not even giving u a Waitlist, have all been recorded.

Now, Yes, no doubt we all know that u are applying via PSLE AL score, but don't forget,
there are new competitors out there now, also with the same Cut off point as u, but fresh case now : they have never applied for DSA before and also with good conduct, good Cca record / leadership, etc. In fact, is like opening another brand new round 2 of DSA all over again, for these new group of fresh case candidates.

Furthermore,
appeal vacancies : only a few, can count by your finger, so, ...

Mr Kiasu your interpretation is right. Just because you were unsuccessful under DSA doesn't preclude you from trying under Tscore if you made the school cop.
It's ridiculous to say that now you are in the school system and if they didn't want you via DSA they won't want you now either, even though you are eligible as you have met the academic criteria ie you meet their cop but were unfortunate. That's a ludicrous interpretation.

I don't know why you are assuming all DSA Unsuccessful have a negative connotation. There are only so many spots per domain; the school could like the student, but they found other candidates had a (slightly) better application. Even further, they could have offered WL but it was not converted (i.e. the school is more than happy to have you as a student).

But whatever. None of us know for sure. I will only encourage those that hit the COP and are still interested to appeal. The number of spots, if any, likely isn't very many, so all one can do is try.

Anyways, I've found that many kids who are ballot out don't want to appeal (various schools). Seems like many kids are happy to turn the page and move on wherever they were accepted.

During the Appeal process,

If the DSA school want to refer back to the candidate's DSA kept record,

there is a difference,
between

receiving a DSA (Rejection outcome)

Vs.

receiving a Wait-list outcome
